President Obama posts an eight-point lead over Mitt Romney in Rasmussen Reports’ first look at the presidential race in Connecticut.

A new telephone survey of Likely Connecticut Voters shows the president with 51% support, while Romney picks up 43% of the vote. Three percent (3%) prefer some other candidate in the race, and another three percent (3%) are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

Obama won CT 61% to 38% in 2008. If he is losing those type of percentages in other states it might be a decent November.

I was scratching my head over this one this morning when I saw it on the Ras website, but I think the point not so much the -8% spread but the fact that Obama is down to just 51% in a liberal stronghold. If even Connecticut might reject Obama... then maybe we really are looking at a possible electoral landslide.

I feel like some of these little negative stories coming from the MSM could be a little like when you are making popcorn and first you start hearing a few little pops before all of the kernels start to go. Probably wishful thinking. But, I live on the west side of Washington State which is as liberal as any area in the country... I am hearing rumblings from my liberal friends and neighbors which make me wonder if they aren't ready to abandon Obaama.

Yesterday there was an outlier poll for CT that showed Romney ahead.

That was hard to believe. Rassmussen continues to be the most believable pollster out there.

My mistake. It was a poll showing the R candidate ahead for the Senate seat in CT:
