I will hire a new employee when Mitt Romney is sworn in as President
im41 blog ^ | August 25, 2012 | BC

Posted on 08/26/2012 4:37:42 AM PDT by rocksandbroncs

Russell Nevins – I am Chief of Surgery at one of the largest hospitals in Las Vegas and lucky enough to be a small business owner. I am by no means independently wealthy, nor have any desire to pad a Swiss bank account on the back of anyone, even “the middle class”.

The introduction is based on a letter I sent to Bill O’Reilly. This explains the purpose of this web site.

I believe I can help Romney get elected. I call it the “Nevins Small Business Pledge”. I, as a small business owner, am pledging to create a new job the day Romney swears in. I can do this from my taxes I won’t have to pay if Obama is elected again.

I believe we can get 100,000 plus other small businesses to do the same in the next 60 days.

My website to make the same pledge is up and can now be seen but won’t be running until Monday or Tuesday.

Please, Please help me make this proactive way of showing liberals that trickle-down economics works. In addition, 100,000 plus new private sector jobs may sway undecided independents. Please see my website (google won’t be able to get you there until it is running) Thank you! — http://nevinssmallbusinesspledge.com

The minute Romney is declared president the economy will improve on it’s own. I pray for a Kodak moment, the fraud and chief and the wookie when the announcement is made, priceless, and keepsake

Speaking of Kodak....my former employer, it is clear that Antonio Perez’ job as CEO is as “closer”. Sell of the balance of the assets, mitigate the liabilities and turn out the lights.

I wanted to trade my Mom’s car for a new roof on her house. The problem is the car, a 2007 with 12,000 miles, is worth more than a private sale loan. A guy I know would gladly have done it as the materials would cost about $9k and the rest would be his labor. But due to liability issues and building permits and license requirements, we can’t conduct that sort of deal. I have to hire a licensed, insured company that pays benefits, unemployment, etc. There’s WAY too much government and regulation in our private lives.

He now has one sign-on that I know of to test his site with. It is ironic the Mrs. and I were discussing my need for someone yesterday afternoon. We both agreed I would not do it until Romney took the oath.

If he does not and Barry gets another bite of the apple, escape plans to Costa Rica may very well be enacted.

Haven't finished my morning coffee yet, so I might have this wrong. However, I think he meant to say the opposite. I think it makes more sense this way:

I can do this from my taxes I won’t have to pay if Obama is NOT elected again.

OR:

I can do this from my taxes I won’t have to pay if Romney is elected.

Wow, you guys are dreaming. Things may end up being marginally better under Romney but people on this site seem to forget what a flip-flopping, lying, RINO he is. It is just incredulous to me that a fantastic site like Free Republic has had most of its members following the sheep herder GOPe, just as they do election after election after election. THAT’S exactly why the GOPe thinks they can just continue ignoring conservatives. Thank GOD Jim and (what seems like) just a few loyal followers on here still are voices for reason. Good luck with your delusions sheeple. I already know what the whining will sound like on here six months into a Romney administration. Please don’t waste your time with your ABO, most important election in the history of the world responses - it’s all been said before.

I “could” hire..

I likely won’t.

Don’t matter who wins in November. If Obama, I’m hunkering down to ride out the storm. If Romney I am going to wait and see if the checks his mouth is writing clear the bank first. Then if I am working 70+ hours a week steady for a few months. I’ll consider hiring on help or raising my prices to make the same money in fewer hours.

We are not hiring while Obama is president, or while nanny state politics is on top.

We can’t afford it, and we can’t do anything while the tax hikes/Obamacare is waiting in the wings. Just the way it is.

Free Republic has had most of its members following the sheep herder GOPe,

Oh'..what a bunch of utter BS..and frankly I am tired of that meme...

Just because I plan to vote for Romney doesn't mean I am a sheep lead around by the nose by the GOPe...

I guess I could cast my vote for someone who has no chance of winning...that's a brilliant plan / s

I know it's hardly news but Romney won...for better or for worse...

His pick of Ryan sure makes it less noxious to vote for Romney...

Am I a sheep ?...KMA if you think so...

If done right (in a non-threatening way), this could be a great line of advertising for Romney. Something like:

“We all had high hopes when President Obama was elected. He was ready to kick-start the economy - but things didn’t go as well as hoped. Now, with the new healthcare law, and the many other rules coming out of Washington, I’m just not sure what’s next. That’s why I’m waiting for Mitt Romney to take office before I do any hiring. I know Mitt may not be perfect, but he will be thinking of me, and millions like me, as he makes decisions in the White House. And that’s good enough for this business owner.”

One of the few things I hate about FR, is the claim frequently made by many, that anyone who disagrees with them is part of a "herd" or a "bot". I find that intellectually dishonest, insulting, and rude.

You are in error in this case. The vast majority of us on FR would have chosen someone else as the flag bearer, but at this point, we have no practical choice but to hope for the best, with what we've got. You should engage your obsession with sheep more discreetly elsewhere.

Well, the replies to my post have proven my point. There will never be a CONSERVATIVE party when you guys are all willing to do whatever the GOPe tells you to do. I never thought the majority here on FR would ever fall for that. I actually believed what people were saying during the primaries when they were telling the truth about Romney. Silly me. Well enjoy your RINO, you deserve it. After the election you’ll be spouting off again about needing conservative leadership but at least I know now that the majority of you are just bandwagon jumpers. Sorry Jim Rob, I never thought you would be among the minority on your own website.

This election is not about electing Romney, its about removing Obama and his Czars. Romney is the lesser of the two evils. Yeah he’s kinda mushy but at least he knows the business of America is business. Maybe by some fat chance he may even bring some people on board with a back bone and do something about all the restrictive regulations applying to business. We need to become a competitive producing nation again.

No, there will never be a "conservative" party when people like you demand that everything must be done in one fell swooop, that any "R" elected must meet your exact, narrow criteria, instead of taking one step at a time. The "salami slice" approach works for the Dems because most people are afraid of wholesale change (and it helps keep the movement under the radar).

Romney now, and hopefully both houses of Congress, and Ryan in 8 years, will give us 16 years (max) of control to work things through and install our own people in all levels of government agencies, where we can control them. Think about it....

Time will tell.

So far RINOmney isn’t talking at all about sound money, reigning in the fed, the vast overreach of govt into our liberties, etc.

All I hear is that he wants to be elected and will say anything to get there - meaning that when he gets there, the same old stuff since Bush 1 will continue.

I am carrying out my own plan that involves zero employees and going Galt.

Same old, same old - election after election - as I said before enjoy your RINO, you deserve it. Hold your nose and vote for McCain, hold your nose and vote for Romney (and we are supposed to do this for TWO terms?), etc, etc. etc. It will never end. When will the conservatives take a stand? I predict NEVER. I will NOT vote for Romney , I will NOT vote for Obama. I think Romney will be WORSE for conservatives than another four years of Obama. There will be enough conservatives in Congress to stop Obama but the GOPe will put tremendous pressure on them to get behind the party “leader” Romney and his RINO policies. Then they will want another four years of him. I can’t wait to see the whining and complaining on here by June ‘13 if Romney wins, but that’s ok, you all will back him again in ‘16. Have fun with that.

I’m a Realtor too.
My plan is in place.

1)When Romney wins the country will be financially energized and our businesses will kick back into gear...banks will loan, jobs will come back and houses will sell.

2)If obama wins, all hope will be gone so I’ll stop paying my mortgage and learn how to live the life of a welfare person with food stamps, disability, housing assistance and free medical care. I read somewhere that if you can become an illegal alien you’ll get even more.

I’m praying for Number 1.

First of all it must be driven home to this evil "one-percenter" that he didn't build that business.*He* didn't attend college for 4 years...*he* didn't attend medical school for 4 years...*he* didn't complete 3 to 9 years (depending on specialty) of post graduate training, averaging 80+ hours a week during that entire period.

Somebody else did that!

I DID work 18 hours a day, seven days a week, when we started our business twenty years ago. I still work seven days a week, but not 18 hours a day due to the fact business grew and I could afford to hire people I DID put my savings on the line or maxed out my credit cards over the years to make payroll so that my employees could feed their children and buy gas to get to work. I DO pay 100 percent of benefits, health, dental and vision. But...in the last four years I have seen volume fall off, slower paying accounts and my insurance costs skyrocket. I will not hire til I know fully what Obamacare will do to me and my employees and the little bottom line that now exists.

Kodak blew it when they came out with one of the first consumer digital cameras in conjunction with Apple, the QuickTake 100. Kodak concluded that consumer digital photography was never going to amount to much and decided to shelve the whole idea after a short time. Kodak consumer digicams after that were just placeholders for many years - and when they belatedly realized that their film business and film cameras were dying dinosaurs (10 years after everyone else figured consumer film was dead), they managed to completely muff implementation and could never catch back up with the likes of Canon, Olympus or Nikon in the digital arena.
