There are still waiting periods here in Texas. I’ve had to wait at least 3 minutes for the background check to come back before I can leave with my new rife (aka AK47) or pistol (aka AK47).

3 minutes! You lucky dog! The four firearms I was able to purchase this past summer (thanks to some OT and careful saving) were all obtained during relative rushes. (aka weekends) when it took about 45 minutes to clear through the computers and background checks. Just plenty of time to wander around the store daydreaming about the next one...

Note, I have also purchased a little over 1000 rounds of ammunition via the Internet. Something else the would-be controllers want to stop. Amazingly enough, not one of the four firearms have jumped up and killed anyone or anything (other than some paper targets and the pallets behind them). The thousand rounds or so haven't fuelled a gang war or insurrection. (just range time for me and the wife) In the past several months I've probably put more rounds downrange than those two NYC Police officers combined. Yes, I have a Glock, probably not much different than theirs...
