Romney Camp Removing Rules Committee Members
FreedomWorks.org ^ | August 28, 2012 | Michael Duncan

Posted on 08/28/2012 10:24:54 AM PDT by CedarDave

I just got off the phone with a concerned Florida activist, Laura Noble, who informed me that both of Florida's Rules Committee members, Peter Feaman and Kathleen King, have been removed from the Rules committee and replaced with Romney-appointed delegates.

Clearly anticipating a grassroots backlash against the "compromise" on Rule 15 and the changes on Rule 12 has caused the Romney camp to preemptively replace delegates to ensure they have support on the Rules Committee.

It's enough to make your blood boil. Please call your state's Rules Committee delegates here and ask that they oppose the "compromise" on Rule 15, oppose the changes to Rule 12, and support the full Minority Reports on the Rules.

UPDATE: Delegations we should be focusing on include the following states: North Carolina, Oregon, Indiana, Ohio, Nebraska, Kansas, Arkansas, Tennessee, and West Virginia.

I just listened to the first hour. He was pretty hard on the professionals who run the party.

On one hand, I can say Romney and his supporters are wrong on principle on the rule changes they seek.

On the other hand I could say he and his group are not very politically savy, or maybe even politically stupid.

They may be in an uneasy alliance of convenience for the moment, in the GOP, with a GOP base that is more Conservative than they are, a base without whom they will not beat Obama, and they chose, and I mean chose, to stir up an internal GOP hornets nest at this time, before the general election?

Why? They have the nomination, so, they have another four years to go “in power” at the RNC if they win, so, in the long war it is really stupid to chose this particular battle at this time.

One thing for sure, it spells for a rocky road ahead for any President Romney with what will be a more Conservative GOP majority in at least the House if not both houses of Congress.

Akin is not the problem. A GOP so off course that it could be manipulated into a Romney nomination is a real problem.

“Can somebody explain why these rule changes are so important? I don’t get it. Why should I care if certain delegates are on some committee, and others aren’t? Does it actually matter? Romney’s the candidate, Ryan’s the Veep nominee, so what’s the point of the rest of this stuff?
I’m not trying to be argumentative — I honestly don’t get it. Exactly who are these people being removed, and who put them in those places to be removed in the first place?”

You should care because the aristocrats and oligarchs are choosing our leaders for us. They are setting up the machinery to ensure that only someone they choose will become the republican nominee ever again. How do you think we get such men as Gerald Ford, Robert Dole, George Bush and his son, and now Mitt Romney. They worked hand in hand to destroy Goldwater, and since Reagan’s two landslides, they’ve been working to ensure that a conservative never again gets the nomination because they cannot be controlled. They’ll pick someone and that’ll be it because where are we going to go, they’ll say.

Mr. RomneyCARE has just proven that HE CANNOT BE TRUSTED.

The warnings were there before, but his Team
of Saboteurs took out the conservatives (a job they
feel is not finished).

Mr. RomneyCARE is an enemy of conservative issues.
All of them.

I sent mine to the two NM rules committee delegates a couple of hours ago. But if party Romneybots have taken control and are removing and replacing delegates it may not do much good.

Romney’s Convention speech had better have good reasons why we should vote FOR him. Not the BS-59 reasons either. I’d settle for 3 good ones.

BTW, what % of the GOP-Elite are concerned that they are insuring that we will take over the Republican Party by 2014 by this sort of exclusionary political manipulation?

If this goes thru I will simply not cast a vote for President. Romney proves to be just as sleazy as Obama.

Ron Paul’s retiring. He won’t be a candidate in 2016. This is to stop the tea party, conservatives, Sarah Palin, etc..

If Romney can get the rule he wants, he can choose the delegates to the national convention when he runs again.

Screw the state parties and the way they choose delegates - Romney will choose them next time if he gets this rule passed and wins this election.

Down the line, whoever is the chosen presidential candidate can choose every delegate to the national convention. You want to be a delegate? Forget it, the candidate chooses.

That is what this new rule does.

He wants to get rid of the Paulbots, which aren’t a big threat. However, in doing so he puts a stop to the Tea Party!

They do not have the votes. end of discussion.

If they won in the primary they would be doing the same. This is all a pissing and moaning contest.

I just emailed Feaman and King this morning asking them to stay strong.

Now Comrade Mittski does this. I won’t say more because I would probably get banned.

Who, the Paul supporters? Other than being noisy they aren't a threat. But the GOP-e wants to make sure the establishment is not challenged again.
