Viewership for the Republican National Convention plunged sharply on its second night compared with the same evening of 2008, when Sarah Palin made her debut as the vice presidential nominee.
An average of 21.9 million viewers tuned into the nine broadcast and cable networks that were broadcasting convention proceedings Wednesday night between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m., according to Nielsen. That was 41% less than the 37.2 million who tuned in the same night four years ago, the research firm said.

Watching the RNC was like eating turkey bacon — not the real thing. What a letdown.
Very blah.
I didn’t watch the entire thing, just 5 minutes here and there. Most here on FR don’t need no stinking convention as fuel to vote out Klownie the kenyan.
My Gf and I just watched Burn Notice season 1, episodes 1-6, and more to go.
That explains allot of it.
Haven’t watched one minute of it and don’t plan to.
I am voting against the marxist muslim but I really do not want to hear what these people have to say.
Changed my voter registration from Republican to Independent ,as a conservative I’m sick of them asking me for money and spitting in my face.
As far as I am concerned the Republicans could not have chosen a worse candidate than they did and I have little faith that this duet will ever do anything about recalling death care.
I don’t curse but if I did I would tell the GOP that I wasn’t born with enough middle fingers
Whole RNC\Mitt convention is reactive to DNC and media.
Media had defined Mitt agenda and he is just defensive.
Mitt convention failed to define its own agenda.
Let me list my analysis -
War on women - Whole thing is around women. I am not saying women are not smart. I am a woman.
Hispanic favor Obama - Today whole day is devoted on Hispanic
Independent - Failed to invite Palin, Allen West, Newt, Cain, Mark Levin etc.
Where is protecting constitution? Misuse of executive order, wastage by first lady etc. etc.
So, they are running show, defined by media and DNC.
They can still win because people will vote against Obama.
Last week, I also registered myself independent.
I don’t want begging calls from RNC.
C-SPAN isn’t counted in the Neilsens. I’d say this is a more about the cable networks not showing every minute of the convention and dictating what people should watch by carrying only the white speakers and cutting off the minorities and women to give the impression the GOP is nothing but a bunch of rich white guys.
Lots of talk about Reagan with no Reagan.
But Sarah has been there. Since she stepped on the stage at the RNC 2008 and spoke truth to the nation, conservatives have grown bolder with each year. So much of what we are hearing from the speakers has come from Sarah’s encouragement and work to give us a voice. She is the biggest presence at this convention.
People are watching it on their computers.

I do hope you’re right on that point, but the whole affair is so insipid.
And these guys are going to re-establish international prestige, get the economy back on the right track and make everything honky-dory again?
I guess I’ll vote for them but will expect very little change. It is Obama vs. Obama Light.
I am watching the RNC Convention on C-Span so I don’t have to listen to the talking heads. I suspect that many others are also watching the convention on C-Span instead of the alphabet and cable networks.
Me, too, Lera. I received a call the other day right in the middle of the yard, the sun was shining, and I had trouble getting to and seeing the screen on my new android phone. So, I just answered it.
Turns out the caller was "unknown".
I asked who was calling and they said, "The Republican National Committee." IOW, they wanted money.
I said, "Can you please explain why the RNC would be calling under an "unknown" number. They said "we're just a calling service" or something similar to that.
I told them that when the RNC called under a number that lit up as RNC on my phone that I would talk to them. Then I ended the call.
Odds are they were collecting for the RNC, but who really knows? Maybe they're just a money scam that kicks up every other year or so because of an approaching election.
But, to sum it up, I became an independent conservative in 2008. I wouldn't have donated anyway. I will not support liberal, homosexualist pro-abortionist Mitt Romney.

WHITE COLLAR is good as is LEVERAGE.
i think ratings were down because, as others have mentioned, so much is online without all the BS commentary.
Those 2 other shows you mentioned, there’s no liberal crap in it, is there?
I stay registered Repub so I can respond to the pleas for money with a “If you ever take a turn back to conservative values...” message. I belive if everyone who gets a plea does this, it might start to sink in.
