WR, Indeed my friend

A couple of global events will send us to economic ruin we are quite there. Whoever wins in Nov. (Romney) They will be left with the sinking titanic which has filled up with 85 water and has about 15 minutes to go... No man now can stop that... that should get all to cry out to God! May it be!

Exactly Bush “fiscal” socialist conservatives!

I hear ya but.. I think she has more power being outside the beltway. I like her just where she is. The media can’t get her out side as she has been. Of course... they still take shots but she has more freedom out there to give it to the leftists which drives them nuts!

“How can mitten’s just wipe out the Tea Party?”

He wiped it out from this convention and with the new rule he wants, and the way was paved to do that, he can choose every delegate to the next national convention if he wins this election. He will only choose Romney liberal people for delegates. Conservatives won’t be there. That why I say the party is now “Bain 2 Party”.

My friend. I hear you. I like what they stated but it is second best and we need solid conservatism (social (moral) and fiscal) to slow things down not watered down socialistic moderate conservatism.

So am I my friend. The lesser of two evils... we owe it to our founders. We will just slow it down a little.. we can never go back... we are too far gone.

It may be true that we are too far gone.

I just don’t know. I pray to God that is not the case.

What I do know is that we must take the steps we can when we can take them.

To say a step is not good enough and then not take it is to fail.

Fisherman, I just watched Romney’s speech.

I wasn’t going to watch it. I had to talk myself into it. I didn’t want to be disappointed and let down. I’ve loved the other speeches, even Rubio was great, but Mitt, you know, Mitt is Mitt and I don’t want to be brought down.

Mitt Romney moved me to tears. I can’t believe I’m saying that, but that’s what happened. He speech was just absolutely magnificent.

He’s a warm man. He’s a sincere man. He has a soul and he spoke from his heart. He didn’t use a teleprompter lie assister, because he isn’t a liar and doesn’t need such a device.

He’s more liberal than I am, no doubt, but my opinion of him has changed. I want Mitt Romney to be my president, and so I will vote for him.

God Bless America.

Pludge --

To apply a software update before it has been widely adopted, potentially exposing yourself to bugs or other undesirable effects.

OS 10.5 looks sweet, I just hope it doesn't hose my machine.

You're right, that was ugly.

Cheers!

“...I am most certainly going to vote for him.”

Me too brother.

I have said, since the day Obama got “immaculated” as Limbaugh says, that I will vote for the Republican nominee against him in 2008.

I will do everything I can possibly do to ensure I will not be voting for the republican nominee against the dem candidate in 2016, assuming there would even be one.

Obama needs to go, he was never qualified to be president (not because he was born overseas), he’s done a dreadful job.

It’s time to give the other guy a chance. Romney is a pretty good “other guy”. Maybe not the ideal for many people here, and many who have never been here.

But, he’s a heck of a lot better than the anti-American, communist, faculty lounge marxist we have in the WH right now.

I heard parts of Romney's speech on the radio (I don't watch TV) and none of Clint Eastwood's. From the transcript, it doesn't seem to me that I missed much with the latter. What would have electrified the otherwise predictable RNC convention (besides a hurricane) would have been to have Sarah Palin. What's Romney afraid of? That she'll upstage him? Wouldn't take much. I did hear the things he wanted to work on to improve and was aghast to hear "education". Every single time a politician has put their non-educator outsider fingers on education, they have had horrific consequences. First we had "No Child Left Behind"--a dictate not supported by funding--and then we have "Race to the Top", pitting school against school and demanding certain curricula (leftwing, of course).

All of the griping about and condemnation of teachers on this board is largely undeserved. WHAAAAAT? you say. That's right. Teachers are forced to teach what their administrators and school board tell them to teach, if they want to keep on teaching (and paying that mortgage). The often absurd wackola things that are brought up on this board usually don't originate from the teacher, but from higher up the food chain. As I said, politicians who know nothing about education but whose ear is raptly attuned to some slick talking "progressive" educator (touting usually unfounded stories of success for schools following their program) then seize upon a "looks good on paper" idea from one of their ivory tower leftist "educator" advisors and force it on their school system. The programs almost always fail dismally because they are not based on what really happens in classroom. Teachers get blamed for the horrible results.

A case in point: the "workshop model" in NYC schools. There are about 43 minutes in a class period. You have 10 minutes for "whole class teaching". Then, the students are supposed to break into groups for "cooperative learning" for 20 minutes. Never mind you lose 5-10 minutes waiting for them to move their desks into their groups. Then you have 10 minutes to "summarize" the lesson. What if someone, G-d forbid, asks a question? Are you supposed to say, "No, Johnny, can't answer your question. You'll throw off my timing."? What if--I know it could never happen--a student MISBEHAVES and disrupts the class? Oops. Threw off your timing again. If you think I am kidding, I can tell you for a fact that administrators have come into classrooms with STOPWATCHES to make sure the teacher adheres to the workshop model, and that teachers have received unsatisfactory ratings for the lesson if they spent 12 minutes teaching or the kids spent 18 minutes in cooperative groups. The latest? Mayor Bloombutt has now dictated that students may NOT be suspended for smoking, cursing, leaving the premises without permission, etc. So how on earth do they expect classes to function if the kids know they will have no consequences, anything goes? This is when politicians think they know better than professional educators and feel the need to micromanage that about which they are totally clueless.

So Mr. Romney--PLEASE keep your wool-covered MITTS out of education. Leave it for the professionals. You'll have plenty else on your plate to occupy your time, I promise.

not just about Sarah though is it.

The way FOX shilled for Romney over Newt ETC,\ It’s the way FOX ignores other issues like how the homostapo is intimidating people, how they go after people.
It’s news, we know it out there but FOX is socially liberal, then look at Sally Khon[]kohn] Geradlo, Smith who said it was the day of intolerance, Beckel and his boring disgusting comments every week.

FOX is like the GOP, they think we have no where to go and they certainly seem to think the Ny area the north east is what America is and it is not.

Lets face it the GOP, RNC and FOX are socially liberal, coudln’t careless about conservatives or they think the north east and the NY city is what America is because they live up there, they stay most of the time up there but it is not.

The midwest and the south and AK are different
