Democratic National Chairperson, Representative Debbie Wasserman-Schultz (Fla), labeled Republicans crass for insisting on campaigning while Hurricane Isaac was ravaging the nearby GulfCoast states. The Congresswoman attributed the GOPs insensitivity to its win at all cost mentality.
They are so determined to oust President Obama that they couldnt postpone or cancel their convention out of concern for the suffering of the people of Louisiana and Mississippi? Wasserman-Schultz sarcastically queried. Or what about them using all that time on camera to rally support for flood relief measures? No, they cruelly plowed ahead with speeches aimed at turning the nation against the President.
Its not like this is something they have to do, she argued. The office isnt vacant. President Obama has courageously offered to serve another term. If Republicans cared about the country theyd be getting behind this great man so we could present a unified approach for solving our problems.
President Obama, who has been on the campaign trail continuously during the GOP Convention, refused to criticize the Representatives comments. While these arent the words I wouldve used, I cant say there isnt some truth to what shes said, he cautiously remarked. I dont think there is any doubt that wed be better off if everyone pulled together rather than having to repeatedly squabble over the direction we ought to be headed.
In related news, Obama campaign adviser Robert Gibbs characterized the GOP Convention as angry and insulting. All we heard were complaints about high unemployment, spiraling deficits and how the Democrats arent doing enough to deal with these complaints, Gibbs complained. They didnt give the President any credit for reforming the healthcare system or killing bin-Ladentwo issues that redound heavily in his favor. I think that when voters reflect on how one-sided the whole affair was theyll reelect President Obama.
if you missed any of this week's other semi-news posts you can find them at...
hahahha. Actually the hurricane was in another state ..it was just a storm.
And where are all the demostrators calling for Obama’s head because he hasnt been to LA yet???????
Not to worry,Debs, only white people died!
And what was der Fuehrer while the storm raged? Why giving campaign speeches to college students and stumping through Iowa.
Piss off you ignorant lying bitch.
FUBO & FAD
While I wish no ill on anyone, a hardy rainfall with thunder and lightening might be appropriate for the Dem "christening".
Then a flash and a boom overhead...and a sign: "And God said": "I made that".
Darn ya John.....
How feasible would it have been to postpone the RNC to the next week after the DNC?
Oh nothey’re having a Democratic National Convention while Louisiana
Poor DNC, they are always mad because the only thing they are FIRST in is raping children and killing babies.
A convention during a storm is crass, but nonstop fundraising in other states during a storm isn’t.
Debbie, the mouth of the south, eats another foot.
"Almost" almost counts in horseshoes and sometimes in some elections.
Oh, and in satire "news," too.
