National Empty Chair Day (photos from around country)

Posted by William A. Jacobson Monday, September 3, 2012 at 12:10am

Today is the impromptu National Empty Chair Day, which I covered on Saturday night when a reader alerted me to the idea. At the time there were about a half dozen tweets from @YouTooCongress, but little other attention.

Through the efforts of Prof. Glenn Reynolds, Michael Patrick Leahy of Breitbart.com, Michelle Malkin, Twitchy, and many others in the right blogosphere, National Empty Chair Day has spread far and wide in about 24 hours.

A.F. Branco has created a logo (feel free to use):

Instead of the lyrics to "Mr. Sandman" should be changed to MR. SCAM MAN.

"In Charlotte, Red Barry’s narcissistic Chairman Mao-like sand sculpture, fashioned to awe those hardy leftists still planning to attend the Socialist … uh, Democratic National Convention, is attacked by the elements, a driving rain washing away, appropriately enough, the right side of the grinning effigy."

I have my Chair out with a Tea Party Rattlesnake Flag. No sign needed. Lets work to boot this poser out of the White House. He just didn’t know the job and didn’t learn from his on the job training. I hired a PhD once at the store I had, the fellow couldn’t stock or shelve or sell a thing. Had to let him go. Nice guy and all but felt such work was beneath him. I believe Obama might be cut from the same cloth.

One of the pics on the website has the caption:

From Steve in Chesterfield, MO, who writes: “Ready for National Empty Chair Day on Monday? I am! Attached shot just taken in front of my house [in] Chesterfield, MO. Labor Day has been cancelled due to lack of jobs.

on front lawn put an empty chair.

And on the front porch put a sign that says "Get off my lawn!"

0bama thinks that the Presidency is beneath him - it doesn't have enough power. He feels encumbered by the United States Constitution.

Perhaps some sort of feudal monarch.

I like your chair idea. Great stuff!

While the poser cleary feels that the executive side of the job is beneath him, he has far more sinister ideological objectives in mind. IMO, he is deliberately fracturing the country along sociological lines and achieving the slow wind down of the once thriving American economy. He wants to obliterate our culture and restructure the entire economy into the socialist model. To that extent, he is succeeding and must be stopped in November.
