Where are all the polls?

Compared to 4 years ago, the number of new polls are coming out at a trickle. Very few new polls have come out since the RNC, just trying to figure out why.

Rasmussen and Gallup both go purposely dark during Labor Day weekend.

Yeah. Very tough to get a reliable sample over a holiday weekend.

I’m not going to start paying real close attention to polls until after next week. By then, the emotional impact of both conventions should have disappeared.

If Romney manages to hold a lead at that point, I’ll start getting excited. If Obambi is back into the lead, he is going to be tough (but not impossible) to beat.

The key is keeping him at least a couple of points below 50%.

Don’t worry. There will be more coming starting tomorrow.

What’s the old statement? Be careful what you wish for.

U right, it is considered flawed methodology to poll over holiday periods.

How many polls do you need? Romney is up a couple of points now, but Obama may get a bounce after his convention.

These polls don’t you who is going to show up to the polls. It is one thing to answer the phone and say “I prefer Obama” and another thing to actually drive to the polls and vote.

Most Republicans will be lined up ready to go on Election Day, Democrats more likely to be “busy” that day.

My guess is that Romney is so far ahead that even a D+9 oversampling can't overcome it.

(Or, as others have suggested, it's Labour Day weekend.)

Cheers!

“Obama may get a bounce after his convention.”

May, hell. He will. And a big one. Guaranteed.

That sounds about right. I saw a D+13 poll to get him tied in NC.

Ridiculous. D+13? In what universe?

Republican enthusiasm. All-time high since tracked.

Republican identification. All-time high since tracked.

I thought the Republicans were pretty enthusiastic in 2008 with Sarah Palin. I don’t see the same this year.....yet.
