Uhh, cripplecreek, I almost gave up FR after watching conservatives “come together” spewing bile during the primaries. Those were some sad times.
Well Markos, they have to pretend that they’re not complete a-holes like you.
I’ve got a suggestion for the Daily Kos....endorse someone else for president if you disagree with their platform. Or STFU!
They blame us for the good things too. I like it.
The division in the Democrat Party over the inclusion or exclusion of God in the platform is illustrative of the fundamental difference between Republicans and Democrats.
God is anathema to Leftists because it implies a belief in a higher power than the state. If there is no God, there are no God-given rights of man, no inherent rights. All rights then emanate from the State and the State is supreme. I think that is the reason that the media so often depicts Obama as some deified being.
If there are no God-given rights, the constitution is nullified and along with it, the concept of, “We the people” and the checks and balance system. What we are left with is an Imperialist Dictator, who treats the states as colonies to be ruled over by the power hungry elitists.
Check.
And it seems scary enough that this is at our doorstep that conservatives would unite and not consume each other as they have increasingly done on FR for a while. I think things have kind of settled down for now. Hope so.
We’ve had multiple parties for the majority of our history. There are generally two holding the bulk of the power but they needed to caucus with the minority parties.
At this point the GOP is morphing into the former democrat party as the democrats go full on marxist.
I wouldn’t bet on it. Virgil Goode was approved to be on the ballot in Va and a bunch of Freepers are still touting the third party route.
This incident should be picked up and made the center piece of the Romney/Ryan campaign. Ryan did mention last week that this campaign was over the God-given rights of man. It’s up to us to run with it.
FreeRepublic used to be a powerful place that could do just that, but not any longer.
