"Around the country, the Republican Party is mounting legal challenges to keep third-party candidates off the ballot in November.

Writer Karl Dickey reports in the Examiner that “in recent weeks, with the full support and legal assistance of the Republican Party, [Gary] Johnson's ballot status has been challenged in Michigan, Pennsylvania, the District of Columbia, Iowa and now Ohio." Gary Johnson (pictured) is the former governor of New Mexico and the Libertarian Party’s candidate for president of the United States. As of this writing, Johnson is on the ballot in 43 states."

I guarantee that 99% of the people who are voting for Johnson will either sit the race out or vote for Obama if Johnson is removed as a choice. To make matters worse, many of those people would have tended republican in downticket races.

Mittens and the GOP-e don't want conservative Republicans to win congressional races - they might force President Mittens rightward.

Seems the Republican Party is becoming more and more like the Democrat Party with each passing day, also a party of corruption and intolerance. Let them keep morphing into a liberal intolerant party of wrong headed ideas, it will not stop the rising up that is happening by more right-thinking conservative Americans growing more tired of the blue blood Republicans Party country club Elites tactics and its continuing move to the left of center politics.

Are they so arrogant that they think limiting choices will force people to vote for them?

Yup. Both big parties are guilty.

It demonstrates insecurities with their own parties.

But, why should they care? 95% of voters will keep voting for them and always vote for them no matter what they say, do, or who they nominate.

Americans have been conditioned to believe there are two parties and only two parties.

GOP wouldn’t need to worry if “Conservatives” were smart enough not to fall for Soros paid stooges who scream the slogans they want to hear despite having a long history of being Democrat party clowns.

The GOP is the party of cowardice.

That is why I may not vote, if Obama wins it’s all but over for the U.S.A.. If Romney wins, he’ll go warp speed to the center/left and it will take a little longer to ruin the nation. Is it 2016 yet, may be too late no matter what.
The GOP-E could still hand this over to Obama over the stupidest little thing. Rant over....

The GOP shouldn't be worried about losing conservative votes, unless they did something stupid like pushing a liberal as their candidate... Oh, wait.

so, so true.

Don't be sad. Your chosen liberal is likely to win over the other side's liberal.

GOP wouldn’t need to worry if “Conservatives” were smart enough not to fall for Soros paid 3rd party stooges who scream the slogans they want to hear despite having a long history of being Democrat party clowns.

But I know, you sour grapes whiner would rather get 100% of nothing then be 85% of something. That way you can rationalize your political cowardice and laziness as “principal”.

What it actually is is actively campaigning for the Democrat Fascist candidate. You people are the useful idiots of the Democrat propaganda machine

Amazing you people have been screaming this same stupid slogan every election since 1986. Back then your sort of dogmatic purists were busy squealing about Reagan “selling out the Conservative movement”.

And then you people wonder why you always lose.

Spare me—there’s nothing fiscally conservative about a candidate who favors open borders.

rumors , .

The libertarians and the Pauls bots can have their guys run but not on a republican ticket, it is about time they stopped trying to hyjack our party so they can spew their message.

Let them have their own platform, their own convention, their own nomination.

I also expect Romney to win, without my help.

I intend to beat the apologists like red-headed stepchildren every time their chosen liberal mis-steps.

I made my decision on the presidential ace after the changed the delegate allocation rules the night AFTER the primary in Michigan.

If they want to play Obama style election games, I’ll treat them like Obama.

If you object to being treated like an idiot, stop acting like one.

Nothing in life is ever perfect. Sitting at your keyboard squealing day in and day out for perfection is the behavior of a petulant child, not a rational adult

“.....My guess is that the main thing this thread will serve will be as a magnet for those FReepers who are either foolish & shortsighted “I’ll only support 100% PURE conservatives” types or, in some cases liberal/progressive sleepers/saboteurs who are doing whatever they can to increase Obama’s chances of retaining office. This is IMHO.”

I read rumors about Palin and a third party

LOL! Really? Read from where?

Palin isn't running as a third-party candidate. You can put the Vaseline away.

Stomping your feet and demanding that conservatives (not Republicans) vote for your chosen liberal is the behavior of a petulant child, not a rational adult.

Besides, your liberal boy is going to win, likely, anyway.

FReepers will figure it out pretty quickly after the election. I believe Romney will win and turn on conservatives almost immediately and all his apologists will react with surprise.

Sounds as if your statement accurately reflects the traditional RNC campaign political playbook strategy for screwing the faithful base of the party before the ink is even dry on the ballots. Touché.
