Reagan was saying that a conservative won't win every battle - fine. The issue here is that a RINO won't even fight every battle.
After all, peoples' memories are short, and our U.S. Constitution, the fundamental law of the land, is nothing more than a few words on paper that has only an historic - not a legal - significance. /s
Obama has done more to trample our Constitution and the fundamental laws of the land than the cumulative results of all prior presidents before him... and he wants 4 more years to complete the job.
I'm 63 years old, and I'm actually afraid of what he will do with another 4 years. I grew up and went to school when the nuclear scare was on, and we were all told to get down under our desks to protect us from nuclear fallout. Giving Obama another 4 years scares me a lot more than did the nuclear scare of the '50s and '60s.
I initially did not support Romney/Ryan, but let's face it. The will of the people is not to have a strong conservative candidate. And one will never muster enough votes to get elected. We live in a time when we must realize that we can't get all of what we want. Others have a voice. There are some issues we've already lost, some for quite a while. When we keep raising issues related to those when it's a no-win situation, we paint ourselves as extremists, and nobody hears our voices.
The primary issues are jobs, the economy, excessive spending, saving Medicare and Social Security, excessive government regulation, and voter integrity. I am confident that Romney/Ryan are on board with those.
We need to make sure that we get enough Republicans in the House and Senate to keep the House and get a majority in the Senate. This divisiveness in the ranks only hurts our cause. The Democrats continue to win because they don't have such divisiveness. We eat our own.

That is right out of the old Democrats political playbook. I never understood the logic of attacking your potential friends in this manner and not expect them to tell you to take a long slow hike down the river of stupidity. This has long been the tactic of the liberal minded Republicans, aka Moderates. It is so hard to understand this ill conceived logic.
Don't poison the well over one liberal vs. liberal election.

After Specter, Charlie Crist, Scozzafava, Mulkowski etc etc I have come to the conclusion that the same RINO’s who demand the conservatives support the winner of the primary when its a primary have no intention of supporting the conservative should they win.
Sorry but that reminds of the old saying about '2 peas in a pod' except in this case it would be '3 peas in a pod'. Same difference IMHO.
As a conservative (not Republican) on a conservative forum, I will certainly note attacks by others that are unhappy that I'm going to act in a conservative manner, and keep that in mind, long term.

The movie “2016...” scared me to death. All the conclusions reached by the author fit right into place with what Obama has done and wants to do.
He essentially does not like the capitalist system.
He won’t provide any kind of support to his Kenyan brother, because he says it’s government’s responsibility. His brother, for Pete’s sake!!
He wants to overturn the results of WWII that created the Jewish State of Israel.
Our enemies praise him; our friends are no more, because it just isn’t right that we are the economic leader of the world.
It seems that he wants to punish us, because we’re primarily descendants of white anglo-saxon protestants from Europe, especially England, because England was quite successful for a number of years in its colonial endeavors. The countries that were English colonies grew much stronger than those that were on their own, and it’s now time for payback.
He wants to rule us as slaves to the government, much as the negro was slave to the plantation owner.
Independent thought and actions are not good; the government must approve and control these through the education process and the regulatory process.
I could go on and on.
Obama is truly the Manchurian candidate. When Khruschev pounded his shoe on the table and said “We will defeat you from within.”, most of us didn’t believe it. But it’s happening. This election is a tipping point, and if we don’t quit the internal fighting amongst ourselves over our differences, we will have lost our last opportunity to stop him. He has too many people on his side for us to do anything about him if he wins another term.
Yep. RINOs operate a one-way valve. If you vote for a RINO, it's interpreted 'thank you sir, can I have another'.

As long as it hurts conservatives, you know that Mitt, George, and Lenore Romney would support it - it's a family tradition. I'm sure that their shrill, spamming mouthpiece on this forum, MNJohnnie, would support them, too. BTW MNJohnnie, I'm still waiting on that explanation of political cowardice.
Yet the unprincipled liberals and left thinking moderates of the Republican Party just can't seem to help it nor themselves. Just like the proverbial junkie or addict they just keep right on doing it anyway. They just can't seem to help it.

Again, that seems only too logical. I learned to take the (political) long view many years ago. Just a part of the maturing process I suppose.
Please don't let anyone talk you into thinking that independent thought is not good.
If you want to regain your independence, check out this website for a truly independent, truly conservative option to the horrible choices that mainstream politicians are providing this year. Yout independence is vital!

All that could be true and it doesn’t change the fact that what the GOP is doing here reeks of goosestepping and enabling acts. Either they’re for free elections or they’re not. Are we or are we not better than the Democrats on stuff like this? Because this stuff WILL come back to bite us in the ass.
While both Dole and McCain drifted left later in their careers, each was once a loyal Reaganite during the 1980s. At least, these two had some history of fighting FOR conservative causes rather than always fighting AGAINST them like Mitt. I don't consider them to be "3 peas in a pod."
