Was Obama Really Ever A Great Orator?
The Aged P.com ^ | 08/09/12 | The Aged P

A lot of disappointment across the board about Obama’s speech at the Democrat’s Convention, even from the liberal left. But was he ever a great orator or was it all a myth generated by a compliant media that almost everyone else was afraid to confront?

“His main thought thrusts are Democrat platitudes consisting of three-to-five word phrases ennunciated in a quick cadence that ends with an abruptness intended to convey a finality as if he’d just spoken a universal fact”

You nailed it! Excellent post.

I’m looking forward to hearing the TOTUS’ last speech in office.

And soon the other shoe will drop....the myth that Michele Obama is a beautiful, classy, fashion plate in the mold of Jackie Kennedy. The Left’s self imposed delusions about these two affirmative action, hollow cretins is something I hope we are seeing the end of. Maybe the fever has broken!!

I have never had a chill, a shiver, he is flat, 100X. He would fall flat on his face without a teleprompter.

His oration skills are like a pleasing tune.

Muskrat, Muskrat, candle light
Doin' the town and doin' it right in the evenin'
It's pretty pleasin'
Muskrat Suzie, Muskrat Sam
Do the jitterbug at a Muskrat Land
And they shimmy, Sam is so skinny

And they whirl and they twirl and they tango
Singin' and jinglin' a jangle
Float like the heavens above
Looks like Muskrat Love

Nibblin' on bacon
Chewin' on cheese
Sam says to Suzie
Honey, would you please be my Mrs
Suzie says, yes, with her kisses
Now, he's ticklin' her fancy
Rubbin' her toes
Muzzle to muzzle
Now anything goes as they wriggle
Sue starts to giggle

And they whirled and they twirled and they tango
Singin' and jinglin' a jangle
Floatin' like the heavens above
Looks like muskrat love

Somehow, that song was a big hit - because of its pleasing tune. But it's just like Obama, the words don't make a whole lot of sense and the popularity came from tone, not content.

I don’t even think he is above average. Having done two sermons in my church and not believing myself that much of a speaker I am not impressed with the One.

I find Obama to be a very motivational speaker. Every time he comes on he motivates me to find the remote and change channels.

“Like Hitler, he can effectively blame the country’s woes on someone, anyone but himself. There is always a bogeyman referenced in his speeches...Obama blames “the rich,” the Republicans and anyone who doesn’t worship him as the messiah. “

Good post. Never trust anyone who is always looking for a scapegoat, or somebody who changes linguistic accents to pander to a specific audience.

Obama is a good ‘reader’ but not a good speaker.

He revealed that even last election cycle.

When he was on-teleprompter, he was good. When he went off-teleprompter, his speaking was full of lengthy pauses, many hmmmmms and uuuhhhhhs and uhmmmmmms.

Additionally, someone else wrote those grand speeches that all he had to do was read. Off script, Obama does not seem to have the capacity to comprehend even what he is trying to say.

My dogs think I’m a great speaker, but only when I use the words like, “treat”, “din-din”, and “go outside”.

Anyone giving out free treats is a “great speaker” to those to whom s/he is making the promise.

Just how good does one have to be to get accolades from those to whom they are giving other peoples money?

Meanwhile, he has a miserable record of giving to charities from his personal money.

But a speaker? I’ll put it this way, I managed three radio stations during my 15-year stint in broadcasting, and if I had received an audition tape from him, sight unseen, I would have tossed it into the trash. He has a sing-song delivery which would cause listeners to clamber for the “off” button on their radios.

Obama deals strictly in lies....immense huge lies....

Easy for him to get away since a compliant MSM has been reliably running cover for him. However, it’s becoming apparent that the media is having a harder time defending the indefensible. I saw more negative press yesterday than ever before.

I’m not a big Laura Ingraham fan, but she made a good point after listening to Obama reading from his own book for an audio edition.

That is, he’s good not only at reading aloud, but at doing voice overs—funny accents (that the rest of us can’t get away with doing any more) and all.

He’s too stiff to be an actor IMO and not quick enough on his feet or humorous enough to host a talk show, but I think he could do well with radio voice overs.

Really?

I find them annoying and obnoxious ... regardless of the words. He has a weird, robotic tone of voice and repetitive cadence that doesn't match the sentence structure ... and that's when he's reading the teleprompter.

When he's just speaking, he stutters, stammers, and gibbers.
