Here is a live blog of the appearance this morning of Congressman Paul Ryan, the Republican vice presidential nominee, at a breakfast fundraiser at the Danville home of former San Francisco 49er Brent Jones.

9:45 a.m.: A quick get-away for Congressman Ryan. The Republican vice presidential nominee walked out of the home with Jones. He then climbed into his black SUV-like vehicle and the convoy led by the CHP drove off.

Ryan was in the house for about an hour. He's on his way to Mountain View.

The valets keep running and the guest keep waiting for their cars.

One of the departing guests, Jeffrey Aquino of Concord, said the event was worth the $1,000 he paid.

"He and Mitt Romney are a good team," said Aquino as he walked along the residential street to his car.

Danville, CA is not far from Pleasanton, CA. Could Ryan have been in California?

Yes, that was Danville, California (Contra Costa County, not far from Pleasanton in Alameda County). I didn’t want to modify the article’s title to indicate the location.

He’s on his way to Mountain View....
Not a good idea...Mountain View sucked when I grew up in Los Altos...
Still think it sucks...just at a higher property value.

Not a good idea???

The VP nominee is out fundraising in CALIFORNIA, I think this is great news!

So far he’s met with the CEO of a major national grocery store chain, one of the former San Francisco 49ers, and now he’s heading to Silicon Valley.

Come on, this is wonderful and inspiring news.

Really? We lived in Mountain View in the mid-Seventies when I was stationed at NAS Moffett Field. Our oldest son was born there. We loved it. Must have become a Lib wasteland I guess. They do that to every place they pollute.

It’s a shame.

Yep...I could get excited except I have memories of going across the “border” to football games at Mountain View High.
Yep, good for Ryan to be in CA to fund raise...
But CA is a lost cause that we may end up paying for some day...
Give it to Mexico.......

I disagree, California is not a lost cause, and it belongs to the United States, not to Mexico.

These days, whence I last visited, Mountain View is crawling with dot coms and you can’t get a shack for under a mill.
They all vote lib dim to a person and happily pay $4+/
gallon because of all the enviro nazi taxes. The state sales tax is around 8% or higher and you’re told it’s worth it because of the weather.
And every Walmart greeter greets you with “olla”...
When you and I were there, Ronaldus Magnus represented everything that was good about the state...he’d never survive today in CA.
A pity.....

Great, watched the whole thing. Ryan has some solid ideas and it was good to hear him.

thats not quite true - there is a reliable 30-40% GOP vote
in the Valley. Can’t help but think that with more Asians
coming in this will only increase.

Oh HELL no! I think many folks there are conservative, they just need to get past the negative image of conservatives created by the media.
