Randy Newman Weighs In on Race and Presidency in New Song (I'm dreaming of a white president)

You can always trust Randy Newman to talk about the elephant in the room. The award-winning songwriter, who supports President Obama, has weighed in on the role of race in the presidential election, releasing a satirical song on Tuesday poking fun at voters who long for the days when a white man was in the White House.

The song has the refrain “I’m dreaming of a white president” and is written from the point of the view of a voter who casts his ballot solely on the basis of race. Mr. Newman said in a press release he felt the passionate opposition to President Obama over issues that generally put the public to sleep – the budget deficit and health care policy, for instance – belie a deep strain of racism in the electorate.

“I think there are a lot of people who find it jarring to have a black man in the White House and they want him out,” Mr. Newman said. “They just can’t believe that there’s not a more qualified white man. You won’t get anyone, and I do mean anyone, to admit it.”

Mr. Newman, who is white, released the song as a free download on his Web site, but encouraged listeners to donate to the United Negro College Fund...

How come nobody ever calls these people out for their bigotry. What an ignorant hate filled piece of worthless trash. I didn't vote for Gore. I didn't vote for Kerry but now the only reason I don't vote for Obama is cause I'm a racist. This guy needs to get out more and quit painting with such a broad brush.

Did you ever notices how entertainers and people who play make believe for a living (actors) seem to think they know as much as people who actually produce things and work for a living?

That's because his audience is a bunch of political know-nothings who'd prefer to respond to emotion rather than details of political documents that are beyond their comprehension.

Mr. Newman said in a press release he felt the passionate opposition to President Obama over issues that generally put the public to sleep – the budget deficit and health care policy, for instance – belie a deep strain of racism in the electorate.

HIS public perhaps.

Taxes and economics are boring to parasites that aren't paying them and aren't having to earn a living.

Of course, they are also socialists, die-hard socialists. So if the DNC candidate was white, they would still vote Dem. And if Allen West was the GOP candidate, they would still vote Dem. Socialism is their true religion, but its layered over with a generous coating of race obsession.

Identity politics only matter if you serve The Party.

If you are a black conservative, you are an Uncle Tom or an Aunt Jemmimah or a sex toy (such terms were used to slur members of the Bush administration, the Supreme Court, Congress, and talk radio hosts).

If you a conservative female, you are a c*nt, a b*tch, and deserve to be gang raped by Sandra Bernhard's "boys" (so she said). NOW will be silent over such misogynist attacks. A couple of homosexuals even hung Sarah Palin by a noose in effigy in the week leading up to the 2008 election.

If you are a Cuban born Republican who has a distaste for Communism, totalitarianism, redistribution, Marxism, and Socialism, then you are "antiHispanic".

Democrats do not like minorities or women. They like demographics they can push around and shame by calling "race traitors" if they step out of line.

Well he’s got that wrong. Most of us were dreaming of an Allen West or Herman Cain presidency.

“Next Time I’m Votin for the White Boy”...

That sounds like a funny parody but I searched every parameter I could think of and couldn’t find it.

Some syndicated morning show in the south made it, I heard it this summer when down there and found it hysterical, it was up briefly on youtube before they pulled it...

Something and Bubba in the morning or something made it... but its been completely censored in terms of being on the internet.

“Something and Bubba in the morning” was all I needed to find The Rick & Bubba Show and all of their websites. But the song has been thoroughly scrubbed from the net. Amazing! So much for free speech in 0bamaville.

It can be downloaded from Torrentz but you have to be a member. I don't know if files from sites like that are safe or not.

next time i'm voting for the white boy john boy and billy

I'm surprised that no sites have it at all. Like LiveLeaks or something.
