College administrators keep signs that falsely claim concealed firearms are illegal on campus

Administrators at a college in Colorado say they will not take down misleading signs that falsely claim carrying concealed firearms is illegal.

The signs directly contradict a recent state Supreme Court decision granting students the right to carry concealed weapons on all of Colorado’s public campuses.

The “possession of firearms is prohibited on the Red Rocks Community College campus except for peace officers or those who have permission from the RRCC Chief of Police,” say the signs.

Oh, felony! Deprivation of Rights under Color of Law, and/or Conspiracy against rights.

Fraud, too!
[From wikipedia] In the United States, common law recognizes nine elements constituting fraud:

  1. a representation of an existing fact;
  2. its materiality;
  3. its falsity;
  4. the speaker's knowledge of its falsity;
  5. the speaker's intent that it shall be acted upon by the plaintiff;
  6. the plaintiff's ignorance of its falsity;
  7. the plaintiff's reliance on the truth of the representation;
  8. the plaintiff's right to rely upon it; and
  9. consequent damages suffered by the plaintiff.
And look, this meets all nine.

When I was in college, I had a way of dealing with signs (and posters) that I didn’t agree with. Luckily I didn’t get caught, or I’d have multiple felonies on my record.

Get some bumper stickers printed up that refute the false statements on the signs and plaster them over or under the false text.

18 USC § 242 - Deprivation of rights under color of law should be memorized verbatim by everyone, just as the Pledge of Allegiance and the Star Spangled Banner.

Whoever, under color of any law, statute, ordinance, regulation, or custom, willfully subjects any person in any State, Territory, Commonwealth, Possession, or District to the deprivation of any rights, privileges, or immunities secured or protected by the Constitution or laws of the United States, or to different punishments, pains, or penalties, on account of such person being an alien, or by reason of his color, or race, than are prescribed for the punishment of citizens, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than one year, or both; and if bodily injury results from the acts committed in violation of this section or if such acts include the use, attempted use, or threatened use of a dangerous weapon, explosives, or fire, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and if death results from the acts committed in violation of this section or if such acts include kidnapping or an attempt to kidnap, aggravated sexual abuse, or an attempt to commit aggravated sexual abuse, or an attempt to kill, shall be fined under this title, or imprisoned for any term of years or for life, or both, or may be sentenced to death.
