Secretary Janet Napolitano told a Senate committee that the Administration is drafting an Executive Order that would grant her Department of Homeland Security sweeping new powers over the Internet.
As we saw this past week, irresponsible use of the Internet by anti-Islamic bigots spawned riots against US embassies throughout the Muslim world, Napolitano explained. The Administration needs the authority to interdict inflammatory and dangerous messages before they can cause trouble.
Napolitano told Senators that the Executive Order is necessary because Congress has neglected its responsibility to pass appropriate enabling legislation. The President isnt going to sit by and allow threats to our interests to have unrestrained access to this very potent means of communication just because Congress cant get its act together.
The Secretary rejected arguments that restricting access to the Internet violates the Constitutions First Amendment. If you read the document carefully you see that the First Amendment bars Congress from making a law abridging freedom of speech, Napolitano pointed out. It places no such prohibition on the President. In fact, it could be argued that as the nations Commander-in-Chief he has the obligation to take this action.

Bye bye freedom of speech.
These ‘’semi-satires’’ are getting about as funny as a fart in an airtight spacesuit.
I’m going to have to start charging you for my blood pressure meds! Another good one, John. You got me again!
I thought they were stopping it
When will patriotic officers in the military step in and rid this nation of these traitors?
I never thought I’d wish for a coup d’etat in this country. But that almost seems like the only option left to cleanse America of liberalism once and for all.
The Constitution says congress because at the time of writing the document, there was to be a strict seperation of powers with NO notion of any president bypassing congress and making laws via executive orders.....ever.
Over the years they have whittled away at the original document so that we now have a very ill defined procedure regarding enactment of laws and seperation of powers in general. Look at Obamacare, all bills regarding finance are supposed to originate in the H of R, not the Senate. Just wait until the UN finalizes the Internation Gun Control Treaty, the Senate may not be able to pass the constitutionally required resolution to enact the treaty but I bet you Onummy will try at least to adopt it with an EO by relying on the Patriot Act or the NDAA......just my prediction.
anyone else think o and hillary blaming video so openly over and over caused riots to drive this home?
I know it’s satire...but it’s not really...If Obama wins, this WILL happen at some point.
Inflammatory and dangerous messages = Truth and Facts
The two thigs Obama hates most.
Obama TV Ad Sparks Deadly Protest
The President of the United States and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton appeared in paid television ads to inform the viewers that there is a blasphemous video about Mohamed on Youtube. The website was blocked in that country earlier in the day, but the President went on to inform them that while rioting over such incitement is natural that he was sorry the US had a first amendment.
To the chagrin of Pakistan authorities the paid television ads that cost the US taxpayers upwards of $70,000 sparked mass protests and rioting. One Pakistan Senator for the opposition said the television ads was the worst act of terrorism against Pakistan we have seen all year.
