LM Wind Power, one of Grand Forks largest manufacturers, announced Tuesday that it would lay off more than 300 employees, including 200 full-time production workers, 15 administrative workers and approximately 130 temporary workers and contractors.
The companys announcement cited declining demand and uncertainty over whether Congress would renew the Production Tax Credit, a key wind power subsidy set to expire at the end of the year.
In other breaking news.... 345 unicorns were found dead today at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Authorities are investigating.
Is this the company that builds all the blades for all the wind turbines sprouting up out of corn fields in Iowa?
Hope those turbines’ warranties are still good.
