West Point is now being used to advance the "Evil Right Wing Racist Extremists Must Be Crushed!" meme.

This relates directly to the Small Wars Journal article from August, "Full Spectrum Operations in the Homeland: A Vision of the Future."

Now the West Pointers are being prepared to turn their guns against Americans. This is a very dangerous trend, folks.

As the U.S. Army returns from abroad, it appears that they are being prepared for operations at home, against other Americans.

Perhaps we should reconsider funding this unconstitutional standing army. It was never intended that the USA should have one for the very reason that the Founders knew the danger to freedom of government armies.

Part of a very strange evolution within our government towards regarding all of us as enemies. On one hand, they need us for taxes. On the other, they are accumulating armored vehicles and billions of rounds of ammunition for “homeland security”. We need to keep an eye on them, don’t we?

I guess if we can call skinheads far right we should call Black Panthers and all Hispanic and the Bloods and crips far left.

Who poses the most danger to America a few skinheads with one of them going nuts in a year or the blacks and hispanics whio kill every day in most large city ghetto’s in America.

Hoa many died at the Sikh temple in that one incident and how many died in Chicago last weekend?

I don’t hear them worrying about the killers on the far left.

“Everyone” does not so assume.

Nazi means National SOCIALIST. The leftist totalitarians try to attach “Nazi” to “Right Wing,” but use it as an opportunity to correct those who don’t know.

As in:
Communism and Nazism are two sides of the SOCIALIST coins. They are both totalitarian ideologies, differing only in their “official enemies,” one hating class enemies, and one hating racial enemies.

Both forms of SOCIALISM are at the opposite pole from CONSTITUTIONALISM, which is where most “right wingers” reside.

Then remind the leftist goons (even at the USMA) of their oath to defend the CONSTITUTION.

The racism thing is a red herring. Naziism, or rather I should say fascism, is socialism in one nation, whereas communism is supposed to be for the globe. Nazis are slightly to the right of commies and to the left of the rest of us.

Why does everyone assume neo-nazis are “far right”? Original nazis weren’t.

You should read The Language of the 3d Reich. It explains how the nazis changed the language to manipulate German society.

http://www.amazon.com/The-Language-Third-Reich-Imprerii/dp/0826457770

Under the Third Reich, the official language of Nazism came to be used as a political tool. The existing social culture was manipulated and subverted as the German people had their ethical values and their thoughts about politics, history and daily life recast in a new language. This notebook, originally called LTI (Lingua Tertii Imperii) - the abbreviation itself a parody of Nazified language - was written out of Klemperer's conviction that the language of the Third Reich helped to create its culture. As Klemperer writes: "it isn't only Nazi actions that have to vanish, but also the Nazi cast of mind, the typical Nazi way of thinking, and its breeding ground: the language of Nazism".

It wasn't so long ago that the word "Militia" conjured images of honor and patriotism. Today, even many people on the right use it as a pejorative term.

Which groups contribute most to the tip of the iceberg, and which are closer to its base? The findings show that the KKK (and on some level anti-abortionists), with its current informal and fragmented structure and low level of operational sophistication, is the formal movement that is closest to the base of the iceberg (and may be the first station for those joining the “formal” American far right). The higher one “climbs” to the top of the iceberg, the more lethal the group’s attacks and the smaller they are in volume. Therefore, following the KKK, the order can be ranked as follows from least to most lethal: skinheads, militias, neo-Nazi groups and finally attacks perpetrated by individuals or groups affiliated with the Christian identity movement. To illustrate, while Christian identity elements perpetrated “just” 66 attacks in the last 22 years, their attacks generated close to three victims per attack on average. The skinheads, which are part of the racist trend, were responsible for more than 200 attacks, but averaged close to one victim per attack.

Christians, conservatives, the KKK and skinheads all tied together as a giant lurking iceberg. How convenient and right out of the Joseph Goebbels School of Propoganda.

In England “far right” has become a generic insult to be used against anyone the administration/media doesn’t like.

The SPLC calls the New Black Panther Party “far-right extremists”.

Just continuing the trend here.

We are seeing here an ignominious end to the Long Gray Line.

From Gen. MacArthur's speech on receipt of the Sylvanus Thayer award:

The Long Gray Line has never failed us. Were you to do so, a million ghosts in olive drab, in brown khaki, in blue and gray, would rise from their white crosses thundering those magic words: Duty, Honor, Country.

Christians, conservatives, the KKK and skinheads all tied together as a giant lurking iceberg. How convenient and right out of the Joseph Goebbels School of Propaganda.

The crazy thing is that Goebbels learned from an American progressive Jew named Edward Bernays who wrote "Crystallizing public Opinion". Bernays was just a PR man who worked for both Woodrow Wilson and Calvin Coolidge. Bernays can also be credited for convincing Americans to eat bacon and women smoking.

Karl von Wiegand, foreign correspondent of the Hearst newspapers, an old hand at interpreting Europe and just returned from Germany, was telling us about Goebbels and his propaganda plans to consolidate Nazi power. Goebbels had shown Wiegand his propaganda library, the best Wiegand had ever seen. Goebbels, said Wiegand, was using my book Crystallizing Public Opinion as a basis for his destructive campaign against the Jews of Germany. This shocked me. ... Obviously the attack on the Jews of Germany was no emotional outburst of the Nazis, but a deliberate, planned campaign.

So where are the studies regarding left wing violence?

Left wing violence is largely institutionalized. It exists in anti private sector activities including but not limited to the taking of land, wealth, freedom and life, whether from those deemed a threat to institutions or simply from those from whom the confiscation of their properety will benefit the state.

To study left wing violence it is necessary to research government abuse of authority. That is a herculean task.

This research, manifestly politically motivated, is leading us into a war of suppression by the government of citizens who oppose tyranny.

The "standing army" that the founders warned against is actually currently embodied in the large collection of armed federal "law enforcement" groups. Remember, in the colonial days there was no separate "royal police". The purpose of the king's army was to enforce his will upon his subjects.

The founders objective was to minimize the ability of the federal government to forcibly impose their will upon the people. The feds got around it by creating an army for internal use, but not calling it an army.

“Christians, conservatives, the KKK and skinheads all tied together as a giant lurking iceberg. How convenient and right out of the Joseph Goebbels School of Propaganda”

Well said! However government forces simply lack the sheer & unified manpower to enforce thought control against the populace; they will have to rely on snitches just like the Nazis & KGB. By the way, how many here have never glanced about or over your shoulder before saying something deemed “politically incorrect”?

But.....if they have snitches, we have `a rifle behind every blade of grass’. If the Third Reich or the Soviet Union hadn’t had gun registration, being a secret policeman would have been far more dangerous than being in open combat.

Wanna give a liberal nightmares? Send him/her/it a Cabela’s or Cheaper Than Dirt catalogue. Or better yet, keep them both & order something!

To begin with, the American far right is characterized by a large base of supporters (the base of the “iceberg”) who are usually engaged in low level violence (usually minor incidents of vandalism or low sophisticated attacks against individuals) and are not affiliated with any formal organizational frameworks (for example, just one percent of the attacks by unaffiliated members includes the use of firearms or explosives, well below what could be observed in any of the other trends). Based on the body of literature developed in the last few years regarding political radicalization, it is possible to carefully assume that the perpetrators of these attacks are the future recruitment potential of the more institutionalized organizations. In other words, after crossing the line and performing some minor attacks on their own initiative, at some point these individuals may look for more organized, systematic mechanisms to express their ideas for political activism, and thus will join one of the other, more formal, streams of the American far right toward the top of the iceberg.

Somebody who was actually paying attention would notice this describes the Left. Underneath the "Animal Liberation Front", PETA forms the base of the iceberg. Underneath the SDS, the rest of the Left formed the iceberg. Etc.

I'm wondering if perhaps, just perhaps, the author decided to describe the Left, accurately enough that his audience would recognize it, but put "Right" labels on it so he would not get in trouble with Obama's watchdogs.

Ideologically, anti-federalists are interested in undermining the influence, legitimacy and practical sovereignty of the federal government and its proxy organizations, such as the U.S. military or Federal Bureau of Investigation.

I guess I'm far right then. Although I don't want to undermine the legitimacy of the federal government - I want to maintain that legitimacy and it seems to me that it is far more legitimate when it keeps to its proper bounds.

Also, I didn't know that I engaged in low level violence, vandalism or unsophisticated attacks against individuals. Either I'm an exception, or political discussion and conservative voting is low level violence.

True. The skill sets that once were restricted to US military SOF conducting combat operations exclusively against foreign enemies has dramatically morphed into para-military operations against domestic "terrorists" since 2001, thanks in no small part to the passing and implementation of the Patriot Act (a most cynical term if there ever was one). The draw is the adrenaline rush of the work, remaining in what is considered an elite force, and the money. The question is, how many of these former special operators will remember and honor their oath to the Constitution rather than go into "accomplish the mission" auto mode when the domestiic SHTF? We shall see...
