DEA Boss: Mexican Drug Cartels Deeply Embedded in Chicago, We Operate Like We‘re ’On the Border’
The Blaze ^ | September 27, 2012 | Jason Howerton

The city may be nearly 2,000 miles from Mexico, but the country’s drug cartels are so deeply embedded in Chicago that local and federal law enforcement are forced to operate as if they are “on the border,” according to Jack Riley, special agent in charge for the Chicago Field Division of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).

Because of Chicago’s location in the heart of the United States, its large Mexican population and its abundance of street gang activity, drug cartels have designated the city as one of its main hubs of operation in America, Riley told TheBlaze in an exclusive interview. Inevitably, the increasing presence of cartels has also contributed to the Windy City’s skyrocketing violent crime rates, the DEA boss revealed.

“My opinion is, right now, a number of the Mexican cartels are probably the most organized, well-funded, vicious criminal organizations that we’ve ever seen,” said Riley.

Right now, at least three major Mexican cartels are fighting for control of billions of dollars worth of marijuana, cocaine and heroin in Chicago. That includes the ruthless Zetas and the powerful Sinaloa cartel, run by Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman, arguably the most wanted man in North America, and perhaps the entire world.

Fast and Furious armed drug cartels and Islamic terrorists that will attack our country.

The One belongs in prison. What do our senators and representatives know that keep them from taking action against this criminal administration?

from July 2011,

US Court Documents Claim Sinaloa “Cartel” Is Protected by US Government

Deal Allegedly Gave Sinaloa Bosses Immunity in Exchange for Providing Info on Rival Drug Organizations

...The son of a heavy hitter in a powerful Mexican drug trafficking organization has filed explosive legal pleadings in federal court in Chicago accusing the US government of cutting a deal with the the “Sinaloa Cartel” that gave its leadership “carte blanche to continue to smuggle tons of illicit drugs into Chicago and the rest of the United States.”

The source of that allegation is Jesus Vicente Zambada Niebla, the son of Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada Garcia, one of the purported top leaders of the Sinaloa drug-trafficking organization

Makes sense in that Chicago has always had a corrupt city government. I imagine many of the local politicians and police are on the cartel’s payroll.

We Have to Operate Like We‘re ’On the Border’

Does that mean they are arming the gangs in Chicago? Wouldn’t surprise me in the least.

“did the community organizer have a hand in this?”

Well, yes, he did. Where do you think a good chunk of the money comes from that fuels the drug trade? Yep, it’s from us, in the form of “transfer payments” that we pay in taxes. We are being taxed to finance the drug cartels that are destroying us, thanks to our community organizers making sure that the “poor” receive their handouts.

You want to end illegal immigration? End Welfare. Don’t reform it, END it. And also end the minimum wage law. Then you will find Americans really are willing to do those jobs Americans aren’t willing to do.

End Welfare, and give a few of the inevitable complainers a whiff of the grape, "pour encourager les autres", and you'll find Americans begging to do those jobs Americans aren't willing to do.

What do they know?

They know if they do take action against Zippo every city in the country will be in flames and just like the “video riots” overseas the riots will be a pretext to terrorist attacks.

There was talk of the ATF conducting a Fast & Furious operation in Indiana, supplying arms into the Chicago area, wonder if it’s related.

given the level of criminal turmoil at the Mexican border I take his statement that he is admitting the feds are not doing much to control drug cartel crime in Chicago

The drug cartels from Mexico have found willing business partners in more than 100,000 “documented” street gang members in Chicago. The cartel operatives hide in plain sight, within the crowds of millions of hardworking Mexican citizens living in the city. [emphasis added]

Population of Chicago: 2,707,120 - Jul 2011 (Source: U.S. Census Bureau). Why the hyperbole?
