Students at ParsippanyHillsHigh School in New Jersey say they are planning a boycott to protest new lunch guidelines stemming from First Lady Michelle Obamas Lets Move campaign. Under the guidelines portions are smaller, there is less meat and bread and more vegetables. Students say the meals are too skimpy and leave them feeling hungry.
The problem is too many of our nations children are obese, the First Lady said. Left to their own devices too many teens are over-eating. Parents arent doing their jobs. So, we are using our leverage to take up the slack.
The leverage is federal aid that subsidizes the school lunches. If the government is going to pay for these meals it has the responsibility and the right to control the menu, Michelle insisted. Those who want to eat more than we have determined is healthy can pay for their additional food with their own money.
The possibility of a boycott was rated no big deal by the First Lady. Refusing to eat also helps fight obesity. Studies have shown that calorie restriction helps prolong lives. Much as we may make fun of places like North Korea, the fact is that the starvation being imposed on the population by the government probably benefits everyone over the long term.
In related news, Barack Obama is touting the presidential prospects for his wife. Shes an incredible person and an incredible talent, Barack bragged. It would be a great sacrifice for her, but Im confident she would put the nations welfare ahead of her own preferences if circumstances required it. Besides, seeing how slowly things have moved since I got here it might well take another eight years to get the job done. So, those who trusted in me may want to ensure that my policies are carried on by such means.

Need a photo of a little boy asking for “more” with MO holding the ladle.
I remember as a kid being forced to eat peas. I would hide them in baked potato skins, feed them to the dog when no one was looking...
At least my mother did not deny me an extra pork chop.
Lol! Ironic, Michelle Obama and her school lunches might end up doing more in creating the next generation of anti big government conservatives than anything we could possibly do.
Nazis don’t really worry about the objections of others.
When John writes, our eyes are on the readers and their reactions.
My mom thought I was the only one who did stuff like this... thanks!
"You will eat broccoli, and you will like it!"
Let them eat cake... organic, non-flour cake with soy based icing, but cake nonetheless...
Dawg! Almost had me!
Sadly the following is exactly what they are thinking they just aren’t saying it.
Don’t forget to do one about the prison in Illinois.
“the First Lady said. Left to their own devices too many teens are over-eating. Parents arent doing their jobs. So, we are using our leverage to take up the slack.
"And theres no doubt that this is a serious problem. Its one that is affecting every community across this country.
But just like with so many other challenges that we face as a nation, the African American community is being hit even harder by this issue.
We are living today in a time where were decades beyond slavery, we are decades beyond Jim Crow; when one of the greatest risks to our childrens future is their own health.
African American children are significantly more likely to be obese than are white children. Nearly half of African American children will develop diabetes at some point in their lives.
People, thats half of our children. "
Another good one John. Enjoyed. Right on the mark too BTW.
When I was in school, we could get a second helping of dessert if we ate all our fruits and vegetables. There were MANY clean platers. :)
You almost got me again! I was heading into rant mode and decided to look at the Poster again. Keep it up you’re doing a great job!
I think you have hit on the truth, I don’t think they care if the kids refuse to eat the slop.
