The battle for the AL East division ends tonight (perhaps) Orioles are tied with the Evil Empire, aka the Yankees). Orioles have a tough game against the Rays, while the Yankees get the pathetic Red Sox ( and they'e MY team, gawd help me..)Both games start at 7Pm..so tney should be over about the same time as the debate ends. They you can turn on FOX and hear Juan Williams tell you that Obama won the debate..
Yanks win, Orioles lose, Yanks win the division, Orioles are the wild card.
Orioles win, Yanks lose, just reverse it.
Both win, or both lose, and there is a one game playoff on Thursday, then the winner of that game goes right into a one game wild card playoff on Friday..
Lot better than watching Mitt and Barry...
Seriously, I wonder how many tens of millions will choose baseball, since the debates are on just about every station.
MLB network will carry the games..split screen..and they're in most cable systems..
I’m doing neither. No reason to suffer through a debate when I already know how I’m voting, and this baseball season has no narrative for me. I’ll be burning down some DVR tonight, got lots of stuff on there.
neither...i cannot watch the debate as i cannot stand listening to obozo for more than 10 seconds....i will follow it on Freep tonight in the live thread then watch the post debate response on Fox and maybe one of the criminal liberal networks (ABC??)
Your analysis is not correct. The Yankees have a one game lead. Yanks win, they’re in, regardless of O’s result. If O’s lose, Yanks are in even if Yanks lose. Both win or both lose, Yanks are in. Only way to get to a Yanks/Orioles playoff is O’s win, Yanks lose.
I think it the Yanks win they win the division, regardless of what the Orioles do, no playoff. Why is there a playoff if they both win, since the Yankees are ahead by a game? I am just a girl, though, so I might have it wrong.
Both boring. Like there’s a choice?
Triple crown on the line. I’ll be watching the Tiggers.
I’m not watching the debate, i would be til 2am reading reviews
Bocce Playoffs at my Italian Club.
I’ll be watching baseball. As with many Freepers, I can’t stand listening to Obama, it’s like fingernails on a blackboard!
I will be at Yankee Stadium, chomping down a Lobell’s steak sandwich.
Like I’m going to put the Obamadork on my screen - only to have to disinfect it later.
actually i think the o’s are down one game at this point. they need a yankee loss.
tape the debate? are you kidding. that’s nothing more than a staged presentation for obama.
Make the debate fun. Get your score cards out and count the “I inherited”, tax breaks for the rich”, “uh”, “go back to failed”, “fair share”, “basic right”, “47%”, “I”, “me”, “my”, “working class”, bipartisan, etc.
I will be watching the games live, and I can follow the debate thread later on FR. No need to watch Zero spouting his BS.
Rangers are up 5-1 over the As in the bottom of the 3rd right now.
Ken, aren't you from NY? Shame on you! Besides that, they aren't tied.
No, watching BO is not good for my health or my TV. I don't need to hear how barry won and won the next 2 debates. That's what so great about FR!! 'TV' for conservatives! And liberal trolls are zotted!
Take the cannoli...leave the gun.
Probably tune in and out of debates and on FR. More likely to watch Sons of Guns on Discovery....or re-runs of South Park until tonights new South Park making fun of Cartman being fat and Honey Boo-Boo! LOL
The only way to watch a debate is to hear Rush’ opening the next day and NOT watch it. Obama is not allowed on my TV screen. My wife and kids know that. When an Obama commercial
comes on the screen, it takes less than 1/2 second and it’s been changed.
Working late nights this time of year. I have about an hour and a half or so after I get home until time to go to bed. I sure ain’t spending an hour of that watching the debate. I’ll DVR it and then delete in on Friday without watching it after I’ve read all the coverage and figure I don’t need to watch it.
I can’t stand thinking about him for more than 10 minutes much less looking at and listening to him for 2 hours. No, thanks. I’d rather catch up on some housecleaning. Cleaning the bathroom seems appropriate.
How about watch the game and forget the debate?
Not sure what standings you’re looking at but the Yankees are up by one game as of today (94/67 vs. 93/68). If they lose tonight and Baltimore wins then it’s my understanding the tie breakers favor the Orioles (better record against the East). Either way they’re both already in the playoffs.
Depending on what Hamilton does, Cabrera may not play tonight. He hasn’t taken a break since August. As of now he’s in the lineup but it all depends on Hamilton now.
The East team will be in the ALDS because the Rangers won’t put up a fight.
Has Hamilton hit any HR’s?
Go Tigers! Rangers Suck!
As are up over the Rangers 7-5 in the top of the 5th.
Rangers are the ultimate chokers. I’m through with them.
Yes, by all means, watch baseball citizens. After all, grown men playing a kid’s game is much more important than the future of America. After baseball, tune in to a new Comedy Central show, “Bread and Circuses”
Not yet but Cabrera only needs to tie to win the triple crown.
i workout a lot and box on Sunday mornings...every time i hit the heavy bag or go one-on-one with the trainer who’s wearing hand pads, i imagine obama’s face on the receiving end...
I’m doing a shot every time Obama says “bush” or “previous administration”. Better run and get another bottle of herradura...
Yeah I’m thinking we need to have Ilitch, Dombrowski, and Leyland take over running Detroit.
Hamilton just struck out in the top of the 6th. A’s up 8-5 over the Rangers
No need to watch a pair of leftists arguing. I’ll walk my dogs and play with my kids. Far better use of my time.
Two reasons to watch the debates: if you are still undecided about whether or not to vote for Obama, or to be able to compare your impressions of the debate with the mainstream media spin.
I can't stand the idea of watching Obama for 45 minutes...I watch the clips later.
I’m glad that cokehead is on the way out of Arlington.
The two teams haven't faced each other in a World Series since 1944.
I think the A’s a for real, their pitching is scary good, and now they have the offense....that four-game sweep of the Yankees was their turning point.
Frankly, both are too boring.
I’ll be doing what I do every evening...sitting in and around the hot tub sipping beer and listening to my podcasts of Levin and Rush.
Just took a few minutes out of my work day; went to a nearby chapel and said a fervent prayer for God to guide our candidate tonight.
I hope Cabrera takes a break tonight, rests the ankle a bit.
I just read the history of the triple crown over the weekend, it was always tough to win, but with all the new pitching styles, specialized hitters, etc. it hasn't been won since 1967, and before that only 13 players have won it. That some people (sports writers and some fans) are diminishing this as a milestone is incomprehensible.
