Via Breitbart, I would actually agree with the First Lady on this one — President Obama has demonstrated a rather disquieting level of comfort with circumventing a Congress that doesn’t agree on wholesaling his liberal agenda. But, as to why that’s supposed to be a positive thing… I’m not sure I’m getting it.

MICHELLE OBAMA ON The TOM JOYNER MORNING SHOW: "Well, we’re understanding that, you know, you can have a president you love, but if you don’t have a congress that’s willing to work, you know, you wind up stalled in so many ways. And I think that Barack has done a phenomenal job working around a congress that has never been willing to help move the country forward on so many different issues. But I think he’s done everything humanly possible to get things passed around the margins. But, you know, just imagine where this country will be when we have Barack Obama as President and we have a congress that’s ready to work hand-in-hand, and willing to compromise to make sure that this country moves forward for everyone."
I wonder how many days and in how many ways I’ll find myself making this same point before we’re finally out of the woods of this particular presidency: In the first two no-holds-barred years of his term, Obama passed stimuli, Dodd-Frank, and of course the major PPACA overhaul sans bipartisan support. Ergo, Americans showed up to vote in November 2010 en masse for conservative candidates, specifically electing a new Congress to thwart his unpopular agenda. This is not rocket science — it’s called “checks and balances,” and it is a highly useful feature of our democratic institutions. I suppose Team Obama is relying on us having short political memories and is trying to get us to focus on the gridlock of the last two years, so we can all forget about how we overwhelmingly rejected having Barack Obama as president paired with “a Congress that’s ready to work hand-in-hand.”

I pray that the Heritage Foundation or other conservative groups are documenting everyone and everything that has to be fired and undone when this dictator is voted out of office!
