I would not list Mila Kunis among my all-time favorite actresses. But I did like her work in “the Book of Eli.”
Her character, Solara, accompanies the title character, played by Denzel Washington, on a purpose-driven trek across post-apocalyptic America until they reach the West Coast.
They arrive at an old prison that has been converted into the world’s last book repository. There Eli, who turns out be blind, recites by heart the King James Bible to a scribe, thereby preserving God’s Word.
I know Kunis is a Ukranian-born Jew. But, after watching “The Book of Eli,” with its decidedly Christian bent, I assumed she must have a favorable view of Christ followers.
I realize now I was sadly mistaken.
In the October issue of Esquire, for which the 29-year-old actress appears on the cover, Kunis hates on Republicans in general, Christians in particular.
“The way they talk about religion is offensive,” said Kunis, slandering Republicans of faith. “Why we gotta be talking about Jesus is all the time?”
I guess Kunis, who has proven herself an all-too-typical young Hollywood lefty, would be more comfortable if we were talking all the time about Muhammed or Buddha or Xenu.
Just so she knows, the reason we gotta be talking about Jesus is because this nation was founded by Christians. And for much of its history, America’s leaders governed according to Judeo-Christian values that Kunis and her friends in Hollywood – the latter day Babylon – find “offensive.”
In her Esquire interview, Kunis whined “Some people don’t like to hear celebrities talk about politics.” But that shouldn’t apply to her, she said. “I don’t think I’m a celebrity. I’m a working actress. I think there’s a difference.”
Kunis doesn’t get it. It’s not that people don’t like to hear celebs talk politics. They just don’t like to hear celebs talk politics – whether they are working or non-working actresses – if the don’t know what they’re talking about.
Indeed, Kunis is no more qualified to comment on politics than Ann Romney is to act in some Hollywood movie. But while the future first lady knows she is no thespian, Kunis deludes herself that her simpleminded political views have value in the great marketplace of ideas.
I can forgive the actress her fantasy that her political views somehow matter to the mass of Americans who live outside of that cultural wasteland known as Hollywood.
But what I think out of bounds is her sneering contempt for Christians who happen to be Republicans; her disrespect for our Lord and Savior.
My hope is that Kunis will one day be born again in Christ. Otherwise, she will condemn her soul to the Lake of Fire the “Book of Eli” mentions.
She seems to be a great Patriot but not a great person.
that is actually the big gorilla question no one has the answer for and folks sorta cherry pick the New Testament to get the answer they want
I do know the answer I was taught as a boy and no non believer would like the answer but it does open up a lot of questions about what about folks never even exposed to Jehovah much less Jesus in the book.
I do believe this is logical as a Christian or just a believer in God and that there is a consequence of life that is even expressed in the Old Covenant.
Folks like Kunis and others like her...some Jewish and some Christian or others..who deride the word of God in general or work like they do to destroy a culture that has always had some grounding in God will not be happy with whatever afterlife they inherit.
as for Jews in general I honestly don't know what happens to them..i would hope the ones I've known who live at least nominally Godly lives are not punished but I cannot say with conviction either way..not sure anyone can really
most Jews I know today think Hell is some fairy tale like Christmas so why care anyhow?
I do believe in the consequence in death for how you lived here...no question whatsoever to me and after watching as many folks die in my life from passive bedridden to violent passings...they are all asking or relaying precise thoughts about this very thing if they could speak near the moment of death..and those not resolved about God were the least calm...
that's my long answer...I sure wish you no Hell if that helps but I fear Bill Maher and possibly Kunis sadly will reap the whirlwind...if they don't at least bow before the God in their hearts they knows exists..forget Christians for a moment...haughty non God fearing Jews or anyone need heed their creator regardless
A minute a go she was a hero around here. She says something that is in disagreement with FREEPERS and she is kicked to the curb....who are the Christians around here??? I don't see any at all.

She has a pretty face and nice eyes but is not at all sexy unless you like boys.
Her co-star on The 70s show, Donna, was 100x as sexy as Mila.
And she might be working but I have never seen her as much of an actress. That other stupid movie, Sarah Marshall..., was horrible and she looked like she was on valium.
I never heard of her before so neither she, or any actress for that matter, have ever been accorded “hero” status in any of my posts. Further, her vile attacks here suggest the “marine date” was just part of a carefully crafted PR campaign. So, I really don’t know where your post to me is coming from.

I think she is cute tho every now and then I have seen her in a particular pose or lighting in which she is not.
But sexiest? There is always a variance in what people think but she is maybe an 8 or 8 and a half. Not even close to a 10.
Ignoring their political views, Probably Kim Basinger, Gene Tierney, Ashley Judd, some of the Bond girls, I could go on and on, are way hotter.
Mila is a hard working young girl. Maybe she needs time to think harder before talking nonsense.
Remember when she took up the offer of an American soldier to accompany him to a military dance? I had a lot of respect for Kunis (and for Justin Timberlake when he accompanied a woman to a similar military dance) then...but now...I am sure even that soldier would have revoked her invitation.
Funny how that seems to happen...
