It's Time for Petraeus to Testify
The Virginian ^ | 10/13/2012 | Moneyrunner

Obama, Biden and Hillary are hiding behind an amorphous "intelligence community" to explain why they propagated the lie that a video and a demonstration led to the attack on the consulate in Benghazi.

Team Obama is now firmly committed to this story. They can't disown it or walk it back. Evidence to the contrary exists. We have testimony that members of the State Department received real-time information about the attack and knew even as it was going on that there was no demonstration and that it was a terrorist attack. They appear to be in a trap of their own setting and now is the time to spring it closed.

The question is: who speaks for the "intelligence community?" The logical person to ask is David Petraeus, the Director of the CIA. He is viewed as a hero by many who supported the war in Iraq as the man who came up with the strategy that won the insurgency.

So far, according to published reports, he has taken Team Obama's position in a briefing to members of Congress. Unfortunately for Petraeus he is in a no-win situation if he continues on this course. The video-inspired-demonstration story has been shown to be untrue. It was known to be untrue by people in the State Department from the beginning. If he testifies that the video-inspired-demonstration story was what the CIA believed, that will show that the CIA is either incompetent or that he is lying to protect the President. Which leads to two bad results.

If he's testifies that the CIA is so incompetent that they believed a false story when there is audio and video evidence in real time that shows what really happened, he will sully his personal reputation and call into question the CIA's judgement about even more import issues like the bomb-making capabilities of the Iranian regime.

According, therefore, to the Vice President our intelligence capabilities are not sophisticated or truthful enough to report accurately on an attack on a US facility by some two hundred heavily armed men in the middle of a city in a friendly country, but sophisticated and truthful enough to monitor intricate details of a hidden nuclear program undertaken in a very remote and heavily guarded location in the middle of an extremely hostile nation.

If Petraeus lies under oath he is setting himself up for criminal charges. I would not want to be in his shoes. I am sure that he has been told what to say by Team Obama. It remains to be seen what he will do.

This is an excellent recap of the issues as pertains to Petraeus. I wouldn’t want to be in his shoes either. But then I would never willingly submerge myself in the cesspool that is the Øbozo regime.

Iraq is falling apart. We’ve been 11 years in Afghanistan. Looks like our multi-billion dollar intelligence agency couldn’t figure out that people in Libya wanted to kill Americans. By golly, the common turd in each one of those piles of crap is Petraeus. Maybe he should go for a run.

I’m pretty sure Valerie Jarret out ranks him. Jarret needs to be put under oath.

Here’s some very interesting reading on Petraeus & his views, if you haven’t already seen it. I find it disturbing.

On the Jarrett matter, I have a gut feeling that it was HER idea to send Rice out on the Sunday following the murders in Benghazi. She’s been giving the president lots of bad advice .... but she is his pupper master (talked him out of going after Bin Laden 2 or 3 times .... Panetta finally signed the order and kept Obama/Jarrett out of the info loop until it was too late to turn back, then called Obama in from the golf course).

I want to hear someone ask Obama and Hillary, “WHO told you that the attack was caused by a video?”

" Panetta finally signed the order and kept Obama/Jarrett out of the info loop until it was too late to turn back, then called Obama in from the golf course)."

So are you saying Panetta provided political cover for Obama? i.e. If something had gone wrong Panetta would be fired, if it went well Obama takes the credit. That's not leadership; so it does sound like Obama.

I'm waiting for the 9/11 Truthers to jump in to help Obama by claiming that Benghazi was Romney's October surprise.. that Romney asked Bush-Cheney to attack the consulate "like you did to bring down the Towers." The MSM pretty much believe whatever Obama throws out there.. how about

something from long ago: TWA800.

"Likely under White House pressure, and without any new evidence, the FBI immediately shifted its storyline away from a missile to a bomb, and a month later, from a bomb to a center fuel tank explosion."

It could work again.. an explosion in the Benghazi consulate central heating fuel tank destroyed the buildings.. the people swarming over the ruins were there searching for survivors to take to the hospital, the White House revealed . . . .

http://www.wnd.com/2012/10/osama-bin-laden-raid-not-obamas-call/

“Director of Central Intelligence Leon Panetta was the key player who organized and supported this daring raid. He signed the “execute orders” with only a few people aware: Secretary of State Hilary Clinton, then-Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, Adm. Bill Mullen and Gen. David Petraeus.

The White House was closed out of the decision because the president, through Valarie Jarrett, had turned down two or three other earlier proposals. The deputy of central intelligence and his covert planning team were extremely frustrated at all the denials and saw the opportunity slipping away, as implausible as it seems. Leon Panetta was driven to ensure a successful mission after the U.S. lost seven CIA officers on Jan. 4, 2010, in Afghanistan from the action of a Jordanian double agent. Panetta convinced his other principals to make the decision that was actually within his authority. He received their full-fledged support, but the president, according to the official, remained clueless on the mission, which was why he appeared so calm at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner the night before and why he was on the golf course when the helicopters crossed over Pakistani borders enroute to Abbottabad.”

WND so take with a grain of salt, but the author is “Paul E. Vallely, major general, retired, U.S. Army, is chairman of Stand Up America. He has a distinguished military career of 32 years, serving in many overseas theaters including Europe and the Pacific Rim countries as well as two combat tours in Vietnam. The general has been a military analyst on television and radio for several years.”

Thanks. What Petraeus does now will either enhance or destroy his reputation.

Let's not jump to conclusions. This play is only in its first act.

Jarret needs to be put under oath.

Jarrett is not part of the "intelligence community." She's part of the "Chicago community."

It should do a little more than just that! It will show Congress, pure and simple, that our whole intellegence community - domestic and foreign- are asleep at the wheel just like they were on 9/11/01 after the first world trade center attack. They are playing Muslim Brotherhood footsies while American lives are spent, without concern in Afghanistan and at Ft. Hood. What are they doing domestically?

They are doing the same “mistake” as they did after the first world trade center attack - pretending jihadists are the not problem - the Left’s political and social enemies are the real domestic terrorist problem. The real domestic terrorist problem they present is the constitution (first amendment and second amendment), Christians (Coptic in the case of the you tube video but prior to that, Rev. Jones burning a koran in protest of their ground zero victory mosque in NY), soldier veterns, the Tea Party, etc. while they play down jihadist dangers and attacks that are ongoing (in Libya and against our soldiers on our Afghanistan bases). The Libyan embassy was attacked two times before the ambassador was murdered. He was begging for security.

The Rinos shouted down Michelle Bauchmann when she called for an investigation of Muslim Brotherhood infiltration of the US government. The government is permitting Islamists to shape our intellegence policy so that we are not “racist.” It’s bipartisan treason! Tripartisan if you count the Muslim Brotherhood party.

By the way. The DoJ has chosen one of the Mexican cartels (the cartels are know to be dealing with jihadists) to support in their arms trafficking and drug trading business into the US...and Obama is importing jihadists from terrorist nations on visas and he’s got the border wide open.

The US can kiss it’s butt goodbye with this bunch. At this rate we will have more attacks on the homeland.

“Really? You liked “Betray Us” from Moveon.org? Wanna walk that back a bit?”

Nope, not one inch... I am highly disappointed and in fact flummoxed by his complete, I dont even have the words ,... When he came out one week after the Ambassador was murdered by terrorist singing the administrations song claiming it was a protest as the result of the video I just puked....... He has been a tragic failure for the country as DCIA.

There have been good men and bad men in the agency. I have no idea which one he has become.
