What Catholics and like- minded Christians ought to consider before they vote next month

While it has been said about every election since 2000, this really is THE MOST IMPORTANT election in our lives and the history of our nation.

Americans will vote for or against the candidates for President for a variety of reasons.

Catholics and like- minded Christians who will vote based strictly on economic reasons would do well by considering why they should make Christian values the ultimate factor in deciding factor in how they will vote.

True Christianity requires you to yield and put your opinion aside in certain areas of life.

Christian doctrine on fundamentals such as the sanctity of life and marriage are not negotiable in a conflict between Church doctrine and a true Christian’s “feelings.”

Reshaping and reinventing positions on the rectitude of aborting the life of an unborn child and/or the value of Gay “marriage” is not acceptable for those who wish to maintain a strong and healthy relationship with their God and His Church.

Yielding one’s own “feelings and opinions” on these issues must be the guiding principle for how the genuine Christian ought to vote. Voting for a Party whose values are antithetical to the laws of God is a trap to avoid.

It makes little difference that the candidates in a particular election will fill a minor post that is not concerned with abortion or marriage.

If that candidate’s Party is in open rebellion against God and His laws it is imperative that a genuine Christian not vote for anyone in that Party.

Voting for a candidate that supports Gay “marriage” and or abortion on the grounds that he/she will do “so much more good in other areas” is an empty argument.

It supposes that the moral fiber of a society is negotiable and not really important...

Isaiah 28:14-20. Why you don’t vote for the ‘lesser of two evils’.

God sees through it.

Lesser of two evils is not a Christian theological concept. The military invented the term in WWII.

Decisions on voting have to do with Prudence, sound judgment.

Proverbs 8:12 “I, wisdom, dwell together with prudence; I ...

some people did not vote for Coleman cuz he was “Lesser of two evils”. Howd that work out for us?

The term isn’t mine. But I’ve heard it bandied about here frequently, usually by conservatives who want others to think they’re still conservative after they vote.

We are given the ability to discern. However, Scripture is pretty clear that we shouldn’t bargain with those who are simply less bad. The Cornerstone of Zion — Jesus — is the only ruler we need follow.

I get that he’s not running for election. But I suspect he wouldn’t be happy with either major candidate.

well, I won’t be spending any time debating the folks who won’t vote for Linda McMahon over Chris Murphy ... but when Murphy is still Senator 40 years from now I will not suffer those fools who complain about it.

Same as the folks who complained about Olympia Snowe for all those years, yet did nothing for her primary opponent during her first election ... murmured “lesser of two evils”.

The greater of 2 evils is the failure to do anything. The boycotters. When did the Body of Christ decide they are authorized to boycott the world?

Why stop at Isaiah 28:20,

21 For the Lord shall rise up as in mount Perazim, he shall
be wroth as in the valley of Gibeon, that he may do his
work, his strange work; and bring to pass his act, his
strange act.

Not to vote, is to vote. Our choices: Godless or God fearing. The Lord shall rise up!

per'-a-zim, pe-ra'-zim (har-peratsim): "Yahweh will rise up as in mount Perazim" (Isa 28:21). It is usually considered to be identical with BAAL-PERAZIM (which see), where David obtained a victory over the Philistines (2 Sam 5:20; 1 Ch 14:11).

Oh, I’m voting. I’ve ever missed so much as a local primary election in my adult life and I don’t intend to stop now.

I’m just not voting for a candidate whose history of support for abortion spans forty years because he’s contracted SCS (Sudden Conservative Syndrome).

I’ll vote conservative all up and down my ticket. But I will definitely vote.

I understand; I've been there. But I'm starting to think that if God can take a Roman tax collector and make him an apostle, he can take a man wrong about the unborn, turn him inside out, and make him a tool to restore a nation that has repented.

It's really up to us as a whole. We're like the unruly crowd in the courtyard before Pontius Pilate. Do we, unsure of a man, remain silent or do we scream for all we're worth, GIVE US ROMNEY - NOT BARRACK!

:)

One other thing, please view the documentary, Dreams of My Real Father by Joel Gilbert. It's available on Netflix or Amazon Prime or DVD.

Pass it on!
