YouTube.com has gone down thanks to Felix Baumgartner's historic jump from space.

YouTube hosted Mr. Baumgartner's jump live and was sponsored by Red Bull. At its height, there were more than 7.5 Million people watching the same video at once.

When Mr. Baumgartner was about to touch down after a successful jump, the site began to experience problems. A few minutes after, the entire website is having a server error, leading people to receive this message when they try to go to YouTube:

Members of Twitter quickly took to the site to comment on YouTube's crash.

Yes me too.

From the very first minutes before take-off until after landing.

Perfect. 7,000,000+ viewers toward the end.

Great job YouTube.

I saw it all on YouTube. I tested it now and can load up videos now. They may have had problems, but I think You Tube did a good job with the load.

HE didn't do that!!! Look at all the stuff someone else built. He couldn't even have gotten to the launch site without government roads...

Watched it on the Velocity Channel. It makes me feel good to know that there are people who are still smart enough to care about this kind of thing. Same with the Curiousity landing on Mars. That was another big hit among those who care about the future. IMHO. Crashed NASA’s websites. I sure was happy that I had access to the NASA channel on TV for that.

HMMM I’m on a 4g wireless ISP from Clear. I watched the last 10 minutes of it with no problem, it slowed downed and froze a couple times for a few seconds other than that no problem.

Thanks for the pic...waiting to see the ones as he stepped off....he was spinning before he went hypersonic and it really concerned me. Flat spins are not good but he did as trained and stuck his left arm out until his spin slowed enough to allow him to stabilized.

Me too, I even dropped off in the middle and re-logged on without difficulty. I did wonder how many people were watching - it was an amazing event.

A crazy bastige for sure! But gutsy.
