If she is conservative, why would she NOT open an account on Free Republic? What’s not to like? Where is she going to find a more intelligent, well informed gaggle of “conspiracy theorists”? Maybe we can find a tinfoil hat to fit her.

To your sister-in-law:
A couple of my friends are longtime Freepers, although they haven’t posted in quite a while because of life & time constraints. I got curious, and I lurked here for three years before signing up to post a year ago. It’s like having a home among like-minded folks. Freeper humor is the best, and it’s a kick to scroll down a thread, knowing someone will have voiced exactly what’s on your mind.
Lurking is fun, but getting involved is even better.

As long as she considers thoughtfully everything she says before she posts, there should be no problem. I had similar concerns when I was considering moving from lurk status. I have found it to be a joy to communicate with the special folks who gather here.
