Okay, let's see if we got this straight ... Now that the Supreme Court has upheld most of Obamacare we're going to be "gifted" with a health care plan we are forced to purchase and fined if we don't, which purportedly covers 10 to 30 million more people without adding a single new doctor (even causing established doctors to quit), but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents to make sure you have enough health insurance (and fine you and audit you if you don't), more than 180 new government agencies including 33 new government committees to make decisions for us and our doctor, and a militarized civilian "ready reserve corps", all to be staffed, of course, by thousands of additional overpaid government employees who can't be fired, and unionize all 21 million healthcare workers in the country, all authorized by a 2,700 page bill written by a congressional committee whose chairman at the time says he doesn't understand it, (now with more than 12,000 pages of additional regulations -- so far -- still pouring out of HHS), passed by the Democrats in Congress who didn't read it but exempted themselves from it, and signed by a President who smokes ... Is Obamacare the runaway winner of the "America's Worst Idea" contest, or what?
Now, this act has multiple "side effects" according to this report by two of the doctors in the Senate, an act which establishes permanent uncertainty about more than 1,000 questions, including "What constitutes a medical expense?" by authorizing the HHS Secretary to suddenly change the answers to them by arbitrary snap decision at any time, with funding administered by a Treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes but will make sure we pay ours, for which we'll be taxed for four years before any benefits take effect (but RATIONING has already started), which forces religious institutions to "pay for health insurance that covers sterilization, contraceptives and abortions" against their will, which takes hundreds of billions away from Medicare, raises the armed forces members' premiums on Tricare, and then imposes more than 20 new taxes, 12 of which hit those who earn LESS than $200,000 and most of which kick in after the 2012 elections (some of which deliberately hamper our best medical device innovators -- and cost 45,000 jobs in that industry alone, and If you sell your house after 2012 you'll pay a new 3.8% sales tax on it, $7,600 on a $200K home)...
And yet this plan was scored by a non-partisan Congressional Budget Office that says it will add another TRILLION dollars to the national debt anyway, cause the loss of 800,000 jobs and could result in 20 million people losing their employer-sponsored heath insurance coverage despite Obama's promises, and while Obama promised that families would pay $2500 a year LESS for health insurance, THEY NOW PAY $3000 MORE, and now the President has given hundreds of waivers to organizations he favors so they can exempt themselves from this scheme, which punishes hospitals for re-admitting Medicare patients "too soon" and deliberately ignores the desperate needs for tort reform, for the ability of individuals to deduct premiums from income taxes as employers can, for the ability to choose catastrophic insurance only, for the ability to buy insurance across state lines, all the other real causes of the health care cost explosion and the fact that there's no such thing as a "right" to the services of other human beings....
All of this is based on the questionable premise that politicians are more honorable than doctors, get to order them around and write rules for how they run their practices while using government agencies and bureaus to reward friends and punish (deny care to?) opponents, and all this is to be overseen by a Surgeon General who is obese and an administrator chosen by the president who called for the rationing (and who says "I love it" about the British Nationalized Health Service in which 25,000 cancer patients die every year while still on waiting lists), and financed by a government that is already broke and has already bankrupted Social Security and Medicare, is that right? Are we going to re-elect Democrats knowing full well that THEY WILL VOTE AGAINST REPEAL? And even if the Congress and a new president can repeal most or all of it, Obama, Hillary and their gang of Democrat control freaks are determined to re-enact every bit of Obamacare piece-by-piece, sooner or later, after all? What's the matter with them, anyway?

If you can't bang the phones or ring doorbells, do consider copying that whole thing into your email composer and sending it to some of your friends, family and personal contacts.
I saw an interesting window sticker on a car a few days ago.
I (heart) OBAMACARE!
And on the other side of the window was... OBAMA/BIDEN.
Lots of other Dem party bumper stickers on it.
So far I have only seen two autos with OBAMA stickers on it.
NO. 0BAMA IS!
The list is nearly endless.....

No, letting women vote wins.
Obama is the run away winner of America’s worst idea.
I saw a car in a Walmart parking lot yesterday that had Obama elect stickers and other socialist placards from the Obama regime all over it.
And I saw people walking by pointing at it and shaking their heads, but also not more than 200 feet away was a police car also taking an interest in this vehicle.
Or the people taking an aggressive interest.
Obamacare is obviously the number one of stupid ideas but Cash for Clunkers was number two.
I’d say it ranks up there with slavery , secession and Prohibition.
They lost me “signed by a president that smokes”.
I agree with you on the slavery part. The prohibition part too, come to think of it...
Oops,left out the word “at”.
I was released from a Florida hospital two hours ago. Turned out I have walking pneumonia as well as atrial fib. I was terrified that my team of physicians a would come into my room and tell me that they were the Osamascare Death Panel. I’m 70 and would probably qualify for an “early out.”
So secession worked?
There’s a big difference between “Worst Idea” and “High Treason”
Obamacare is high treason.
She sent it to a dozen friends and relatives, I fired back with this article today. Love her to death, but come on Ma, yer killin me!
For a little perspective before you vote... (oh, and talk about JOBS & Quality of Life)
This morning I was aw a kene d by my alarm clock powered by electricity generated by the public power monopoly regulated by the US D epartment of E nergy . I then took a shower in the clean water provided by the municipal water utility . After that, I turned on the TV to one of the FCC regulated channels to see what the N ational W eather S ervice of the N ational O ceanographic and A tmospheric A dministration determined the weather was going to be using satellites designed, built, and launched by the N ational A eronautics and S pace A dministration . I watched this while eating my breakfast of US D epartment of A griculture inspected food and taking the drugs which have been determined as safe by the F ood and D rug A dministration .
At the appropriate time as regulated by the US C ongress and kept accurate by the N ational I nstitute of S tandards and T echnology and the US N aval O bservatory , I get into my N ational H ighway T raffic S afety A dministration approved automobile and set out to work on the roads buil t by the local, state, and federal departments of transportation , possibly stopping to purchase additional fuel of a quality level determined by the E nvironmental P rotection A gency , using legal tender iss u ed by the F ederal R eserve B ank . On the way out the door I deposit any mail I have to be sent out via the US P ostal S ervice and drop the kids off at the public school .
After spending another day not being maimed or killed at work thanks to the workplace regulations imposed by the D epartment of L abor and the O ccupational S afety and H ealth A dministration , enjoying another two meals which again do not kill me because of the USDA, I drive my NHTSA car back home on the DOT roads, to m y house which has not burned down in my absence because of the state and local building codes and fire marshal's inspection , and which has not been plundered of all its valuables thanks to the local police department .
I then log on to the I nternet which was developed by the D efense A dvanced R esearch P rojects A dministration and post on freerepublic.com and FOX N ews forums about how SOCIALISM in medicine is BAD because the government can't do anything right.
I have seen a lot of these stupid bumper stickers. I asked one motorist about it and she said “Obama will take care of ALL my problems. I have lots of them” (I don’t doubt it!)
I asked if she was aware that if she was unable to work, or be of benefit to the community there is a board that has been established to decide if the care she is currently getting should be ended.
She said it could never happen. I replied with “for your sake I hope your right. But I know your wrong” and left.
OUTSTANDING post, FreeKeys! Thanks. BUMP-TO-THE-TRUTH!
No, but it might come in handy some day...
Thank you, sir.
EVERY SINGLE ONE of the government agencies your mom referred to is performing a function that can very well be done by private entities (and usually at precisely one-half the cost), without the backup of guns, jails and nasty control-freak personalisties, — just lawsuit potentials. Most prominently, Underwriters Laboratories can (and does) do all the consumer protection anyone needs — WITHOUT politicians’ interference as happens with the FDA, the EPA, etc., etc. etc. And Heaven knows the Post Office is obsolete...
I'll pass that along to the email group ((You'll get full credit of course) no cash, sorry!) FR to get a hat tip as well since we got dissed as well.
“and If you sell your house after 2012 you’ll pay a new 3.8% sales tax on it”
I missed that. Is it true? How can that be constitutional? (Not that it seems to matter.) Are the states all arm-twisted into doing it? Isn’t federal only allowed to tax income or in a manner apportioned among the states.
Thanks for the ping!
It’s a medicare surcharge that is being expanded to include ununearned income. It starts to kick in for AGI above 200k, 250k for married couples filing jointly.
