Please remember my friend in your prayers this weekend

I am humbly asking all in the FReeper community to say a prayer for my friend Tim. He has been battling amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS -- also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease) for the past 2-1/2 years. Today my dear friend Cindy, his wife, told me that he has gone almost completely non-responsive. The hospice care workers have told her it's doubtful he will last beyond the weekend. Please, if you could spare a prayer for Tim during your personal prayers and/or at your church service over the weekend, I would appreciate it. He will leave behind his wife and 12-yr-old twins.

We lost a church member to ALS recently, only in his 50s. I'm so sorry. Tim is only 52. This is such a hideous disease!

ALS is a locked in disease. Your unresponsive because you can't respond, not that your unaware. I would urge all of his family, friends and church to spend time talking and reading to him. build a schedule and staff it. 24/7. Not being alone and knowing your people understand will dramatically reduce the fear he has. I would space the family, wife first and last, kids during the day, everyone else as they can.
There is a nerve ganglia mid forehead, just above the eyebrows. An upward stroke has been proven to calm all mammals.
I'll keep them all in my thoughts.

My best friend passed from ALS...his body quit working, but not his mind. Unresponsive or not....talk to him.
