Sharpton In Memphis in Poll Watcher's Brigade Drive
The Black Star News ^ | October 25, 2012 | Samantha Bryson

Rev. Al Sharpton addressed a group of community and political leaders in Downtown Memphis Thursday morning, calling for fair elections and expressing his hope for a high voter turnout in Shelby County.

Sharpton flew in from New York at the request of Gregory Grant, president of the Memphis chapter of Sharpton's group, the National Action Network, to encourage the formation of a volunteer poll watcher's brigade to staff all 222 polling places in the county. "We just want an honest election. We want the process to be right," Sharpton said.

Sharpton said he was excited about the prospect of a poll watcher's brigade in Memphis — an endeavor being spearheaded by former state Senator Kathryn Bowers. He also stressed the importance of the upcoming presidential election because whoever wins will likely choose several Supreme Court justices whose decisions will have an impact for generations.

Congressman Steve Cohen offered an enthusiastic introduction of Sharpton to the roughly 40 people gathered at Willie Moore's Family Restaurant on N. Main, calling Sharpton "a great truth teller."

"This election is tight nationwide," Cohen said, adding that the problem was not finding support for Barack Obama in Shelby County but rather low voter turnout among those who support the incumbent.

But if everyone who supported the president showed up to vote on Nov. 6, Cohen said, "we could see a surprise in Tennessee."

Poll watching brigades? I know Sharpton never served in the military, but 40 people ain't a brigade in any army.

LOL Sharpton couldn’t draw flies. 40 people? The only surprise in Tennessee would be Obama getting above 35%.

WTH? Who would he be watching in Memphis? The thugs, to make sure they’re intimidating caucasians on election day?

If every dim voted twice on election day, Tennessee is a lead pipe cinch to stay red.

Sharpton in Memphis. Someone more talented than myself could make a good parody song based on “Walking in Memphis”

IS VOTER FRAUD BEING COMMITTED IN OHIO?

(excerpt)
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Two volunteer poll workers at an Ohio voting station told Human Events that they observed van loads of Ohio residents born in Somalia — the state is home to the second-largest Somali population in the United States — being driven to the voting station and guided by Democratic interpreters on the voting process. No Republican interpreters were present, according to these volunteers.

Are you telling me Romney can win Shelby County? The last time I drove through there, last June, I didn’t see many “Romney types”.

I was born in Memphis, 1944.
It was a fine city...rated the nations quietest and cleanest.
It had the nations number one fire department, and an excellent utility system, with light, gas, and water, under one roof. It was then a 40% black population.
Since I left, it is now 60 percent black, and the city has gone to the dogs.
The utilities have been sold off to companies outside of the state, and blacks hold all of the political offices.
Memphis is “Gone With the Wind”.
