Virginia AG Declines to Prosecute Moran
Semi-News/Semi-Satire ^ | 27 Oct 2012 | John Semmens

Posted on 10/30/2012 3:20:17 PM PDT by John Semmens

Patrick Moran, the son of Representative Jim Moran (D-Va), was caught on tape advising an undercover reporter on ways to fake IDs so invalid votes could be cast. Nevertheless, Virginia State Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli (R) declined to press charges.

“Look, this type of thing is pretty standard for how Democrats try to manipulate elections in this state,” Cuccinelli observed. “If I filed a case every time they try to commit vote fraud I wouldn’t have the resources to pursue more serious crimes.”

Cuccinelli also argued that “trying to take this kind of offense through the courts may not be the most effective way of dealing with it anyway. The process is long and drawn out. The penalties are inadequate. It may be a case of too little, too late.”

“Publicity may be the best remedy,” Cuccinelli concluded. “Getting caught right before election day may help voters understand their choices better at a time when they can more effectively punish these crooks by denying them the fruits of their fraudulent schemes.”

Satire isn’t supposed to be THAT realistic. (Is that why it’s semi-satire?)

He needs to go. There is no more scared right that we share in this country than our right to vote. He obviously looks at that in a rather frivolous manner. Virginia, you need to let this guy know how you feel about his conduct.

Satire only works if there is some truth or believability behind it...

I must admit I felt my blood begin to boil, then I saw who wrote it :-)

This spoof is easy to believe.

When Bush43 entered office he was handed tons of evidence proving Bill Clinton was a treasonous double agent for the Chicoms yet he, like new presidents before him, decided to let the crimes of a previous chief executive slide so as not to set a precedent that could affect him after his hitch is up...

...It's called the Statute of Administrations.

Mitt is gonna win so the fix is already in.

Satire aside (and it was good) - prior to being asked to look into this particular case AG Cuccinelli made some remarks about this case - calling it foolish but seeing no real evidence of actual voter fraud from the tape.

After the investigation we will see what happens, but personally I don’t expect much from this. Moran’s son is moron, and I fully anticupate the moron’s dad will be re-elected.

Sad but true.

Another great article John. I judge your work on how far in I get before I smile and look at the bi-line.

Democrats make parody easy to believe.

If Virginians returned to the time of the Founders they'd do beatdowns on every politician who engaged in any sort of vote fraud ~ and there would be a lot fewer politicians around in this state.

It's a thought ~

Now this, John, is local to me and something I know a bit about. An investigation is proceeding. Prosecution? We’ll see.

" there would be a lot fewer politicians"

Fewer politicians, more statesmen. Good combo.

It’s Jim Moran (D-8-VA) who’s the wifebeating/child molesting/drunken whoremonger. THIS incident involves his son Patrick who Cuccinelli is investigating. With those genes and parental influence, the kid had a good start.

I met AG Cucinelli a few days ago and talked to him about voter fraud. I said that the ability to use utility bills as proof of ID was ridiculous. He thought there was a much bigger problem at the actual voter registration level. We both agreed that it was nuts that VA law requires the state board of elections to ask him to intervene and investigate cases of potential voter fraud. He can’t just do so on his own initiative.
