TMZ reports, We're told the incident escalated big time when Becker called Hackman's wife a "c**t" -- and then Hackman dished out some street justice ... slapping Becker across the face.

(For some reason, the rest of the media reports leave that detail out)

Will this “homeless” man now hire a lawyer to sue Mr. Hackman?

Years ago in Tucson....there were two or three areas of town where homeless folks were in ample abundance. It got to a point at one city park....that you just couldn’t allow young kids into the park at all. I doubt if anything has improved over the last two decades.

The sad truth is that ninety-five percent of the homeless population in America need to be put into some compound area, and just allowed to roam the compound like zombies.

I almost popped a guy that was on skates and drooling like a dog with mange and distemper.

He crashed into the bench we were sitting at and hovered menacingly while begging for a buck.

I was very un-nice as I told him what to do, where to go and I did it with a smile and a locked on look.

He left.

Guy was a disgusting pig and I didn’t him getting his whatever on my meal.

Mr.Hackman and his wife, who is of Asian descent, used to live in Oregon. It is interesting that no photos of Mrs.Hackman have been made public.

There is enormous prejudice against Asians in the US.

A friend of mine who’s mother was Japanese, told me he never goes anywhere without carrying a concealed weapon, it’s that bad.

TMZ has left out the racism of this incident.

Neither here nor there, but it should be noted Gene Hackman is a rather liberal actor (how many of them are NOT!?)

Having been to Santa Fe many times, I’m very familiar with the location of the assault and have walked through the area many times since it is just north of The Plaza. Many well-known restaurants are nearby, as is the Georgia O’Keefe Museum. While the surroundings are pleasant, those who would prey on victims are also in evidence.

It sounds like Mr. Hackman might have been in “Condition White” and allowed the assailant inside his safe zone. Mr. Hackman should be commended, however, for taking direct action against the assault.

It’s Hacks crappy voting habits that helped create this “utopian” society in Santa Fe in the first place. You’d think he would’ve handed the bum a 50 and got him a hotel room. “He has the money” as they would say.

My wife and I were in Santa Fe earlier this month. We visited the Plaza, but we didn’t see any nasty vagrants there. However while passing through Taos we did see some pretty mangy two-legged critters.

Neither here nor there, but it should be noted Gene Hackman served in the US Marines, leaving home at 16 to do so.

???
News to me. Have never experienced that anywhere. I would say the opposite actually.
Any stereotypes I have seen are all positive ones.

Court records show Becker has an arrest record in Santa Fe that includes a guilty plea to charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and abandonment or abuse of a child in 2008. In 2009, he pleaded guilty to battery on a peace officer and in 1980, he pleaded guilty to arson.

Lived in Santa Fe for 4 years, the crazy homeless people are either wacked out ex cons like this guy, or trust fund babies with $20 million in the bank and on drugs. Looking at the two types of people, you can’t tell the difference though....

It is not unusual to see Mr. Hackman and his wife out and about like normal people shopping in Santa Fe, and they have a right not to be harassed by street vermin. Gene was doing his civic duty.

My wife is Asian - I've seen some of it. The stereotype even among Asian-Americans - and one of the main reasons they vote Democrat - is that hatred is coming at them from white male factory workers and rural rednecks who are mad at "the damn Japs!" for taking their jobs, but that isn't reality. White men universally love my wife. :)

No the primary haters are:

1) Holder's people.

2) White women with an excessive fondness for recreational calories.

3) Women of all races ages 50-and-up who are aging in a less than graceful manner.

4) My wife's employees, very few of whom can match her work ethic and initiative and think she is "mean" for expecting them to actually do work.

So a good portion of it is rooted in envy, rather than race prejudice.

Yes that makes sense. Interesting to hear your point of view.

By the way you have given me a new phrase to use!!!:

” women with an excessive fondness for recreational calories. “
