I am not going to put any money into the economy other than the bare essentials. I won't see any movies or other forms of entertainment. I won't buy any newpapers or magazines. I won't get on the tollway, but ride the service roads. I am not going to eat out.
What more can I do, here in Texas, to help strangle the money pipeline to the Feds?
It won’t matter. The Obamacare Tax will still slice a big chunk out of your paycheck.

Someday soon welfare and social security recipients and public sector unions will be cut off the gravy trains - not by any political decision - but simply because the government will no longer be able to borrow money to keep the ponzi scheme going. Greece is run by leftists who are as much in love with public spending as Obama but they have had their day of reckoning. America is next.
Start a barter group to keep your production and needs out of the tax stream.
If you keep your money in the bank and don’t spend it, that’s a good thing for the economny, as it will be available for capital expenditures, which grows an economy faster than consumer expenditures. Put it in a mattress if you want to cause harm.

Dude, at this point you need to skip the gold and invest in other heavy metals. Lead comes to mind.
I will continue to eat at restaurants. The mom and pop, family operations at least.
All large businesses are suspect and purchases will be reviewed carefully for 1) Can I do without it? 2) Can it be substituted? 3)Can it be bought from a local source that doesn’t profit a large business? 4) Can I buy it used instead?
Satellite TV must go, land line must go. I have no magazine subscriptions. I do still have local small town newspapers that I will continue to support.
The media that sustained Obama must be starved.
I’m in Japan . We ( wife , 24 year old daughter and myself ) booked a trip to Hawaii for next March and I wish like hell I could cancel it but we’d lose over 3 grand on the air tickets . Renting a private house from a family who reside in CA so that money and the flight money wont directly benefit Hawaii . Going to be cooking a lot of meals at home . Screw the locals . 72% voted for Obozo !
D.I.Y, home cooking, grow what you eat, barter, fishing, and hunting. Do Not support the MSM, big box stores, restaurant chains. Vacation in state and national forests, beaches, mountains, rivers, and lakes. Avoid air travel, cruise lines and hotel chains.
Cut back on use of credit cards, the banks/credit unions, keep yo money in a home safe/jar. Convert Federal notes to Pre-1964 silver. Make friends with a local coin store/money changer.

We are already drafting the letters to our children and grandchildren about minimal Christmas presents, both from us and none to us. That is about $5,000 more this year. And since we live 65 miles from the nearest Starbucks we do not eat out except for one luncheon a month with other old farts.
We have good vehicles, good tv's, good appliances so there is no major purchase in the future.
Our only worry is Medicare and Social Security. We have enough to scrimp on without Social Security and are rather healthy, so even these are no major distraction to us. But we will be prudent.
Our little contribution to the speedy promotion of socialism in this country which appears to be what it wants.
Chances are couple who own a house in Hawaii voted for Romney. By March, tempers will subside and you’ll have a great vacation with your family and enjoy the people and the activities. Don’t short you/your family by neglecting the natives - they in fact will actually help you find ways of saving money over there (which as you can suspect it gets pricey). Enjoy your family trip.
You’ve got the right idea. This is the way to “Go Galt.”
We obviously can’t isolate ourselves in a secret commune, but we sure as hell can isolate ourselves from the economy as much as humanly possible. Other ways to isolate yourself:
1. Buy used or new via secondary markets. You can use Craigslist to find a lot of new stuff at less than retail. Added bonus - you pay no taxes into the system. You could argue that someone does to get the item the first time, but I’m not so sure. I see a lot of new stuff on Craigslist at a considerable discount to retail. Something tells me it wasn’t bought at a register or the seller would be taking a huge loss.
2. Contribute to the secondary market by selling the stuff just sitting around your house.
3. Buy *down*. Sure, you can afford that nice new Mercedes, but you’ll pay more in taxes on it. Find a lesser vehicle that makes you happy that feeds the beast less.
4. Invest and hold. Avoid paying capital gains at all costs.
5. FIX YOUR STUFF instead of replacing it. So many people look at durable possessions as disposable. Take those pants to the tailor, or better yet, get a used sewing machine and fix them yourself. Find someone with a welding machine to fix that patio chair.
6. Maintain your possessions properly. Clean the dust out of your computer. Sand the rust off your trailer and paint it.
7. Plant a garden.
8. Enjoy life more simply. Choose a day at the park over an afternoon at the movies. Attend a church cookout instead of going to Chili’s. Keep your eye out for church events, even if it is not yours. Lots of churches have some really fun stuff going on!
9. Speaking of things like the movies - stop going. Wait for the DVD and rent it for $1 at Redbox. If there is a cheaper option to do something, take that option. Get rid of cable and get Hulu+. Watch your shows a few days or weeks late. Do you really need to see it THAT DAY? Hulu+ is cheaper. Netflix streaming is cheaper. The amount of content is acceptable. You may even find shows you never knew existed that become your new favorites. Or - here’s a radical idea - buy used books dirt cheap and READ.
10. Set up two days a week to run errands. Run them all at once and efficiently instead of wasting money (and taxes) on fuel. If your workplace offers a work-from-home option, TAKE IT. (The anti-oil libtards will love this one, but I’m talking about an opportunity to NOT pay taxes into the system.)
11. Make gifts instead of buying them.
12. I hate to say this one, but... watch your charitable giving. Give locally - like to your church or to someone you *personally* know that is in distress. You can also give to certain charities where you know the giving goes to those actually in need: such as Operation Christmas Child. Stop giving to places where the money is wasted, that includes fundraisers for your local school. If you want your child to learn more, spend an extra 30-60 minutes a night with them doing something educational. They’ll get more benefit out of that than they will from buying cookies through the fund raiser. Trust me.
There’s probably a dozen more ways to disconnect from the beast, but those are the first that come to mind.
yep, and find a hiding place for that lead and the things that use the lead! They’ll be coming after these next, cuz now that we’re socialists, why do we need our own protection? The goverment is gonna do that for us, donchaknow!
My little, giddy hispanic waitress this AM didn’t get a tip from me. My note to her read ‘since Obama will take more of my taxes I’m no longer tipping’.
It may already be too late to hide our IRAs and bank accounts. There may not be a lot of time left to prep-up, so there is no time like today.
When the retributions begin, hopefully Perry and Abbott will take a stand and many of us will be with them.
We patriotic Texans have to also recognize that 40+% in Texas voted against America yesterday, most of them are just liking the candy handouts, but some will work against any patroitic stand Texas takes.
Watering holes like FR may turn into traps. Just like bragging about having guns, ammo or gold, we patriots should tread lightly from this point onward. To quote an old but correct (at least on this point) progressive, “Talk softly and carry a big stick”.
From November 6 onward our path turned more rocky and upward. Patriotism just got more difficult, but like the winter in Valley Forge we must persevere.
Yep, sent my last donation to the blue NE last week. Wish I had it back now. I'm sure I could have found a better need for it locally.
The Obamacare tax ironically will have the effect of getting us to go Galt. That’s money that won’t be spent on goods and services to fuel the economy.
