Discretionary spending...NOW!
11-9-12 | Me

Posted on 11/09/2012 5:26:58 AM PST by SMARTY

I am sure you’ll get a kick out of this.

There is a big push around here to get us to contribute to United Way… their annual coercion to make us ‘give’.

Let me see if I get this right:

Americans just elected a guy whose party has ALWAYS screamed:

‘The government can spend your money better then you can, get more out of your money than you can, provide more efficiently for the needy and disabled, assure that EVERYONE gets his/her fair share, etc…. and on and on’!!!

NOW they think, after they virtually enabled the government to rape us, we will have ANYTHING left over for a charity of our OWN choosing?!!!

Did I get that right… I need to CONTINUE to GIVE?!!

HOW? Where will the extra money come from?

Heck...even the charity that I always give to will get short shrift this go around... let "O" do what he promised with what he can get!

THREE WORDS:

ELECTIONS HAVE CONSEQUENCES!

I “O” thinks HE can have my income on demand, then let HIM and the vampires in HIS adm. work it out! I’m skinned.

NO MORE DISCRETIONARY SPENDING OUT OF ME FOR FOUR MORE YEARS!

>>But then I stopped donating to the the United Way after their row about not wanting to support the boy scouts.>>

We stopped giving to United Way years and years ago after we found out that their statement that you can choose who to give to and who not to give to was a fake. Their percentages of which organization gets how much is set BEFORE the drive begins. So if you say you won’t contribute to (name your group) they simply take more out of their collection results and give it to the group you’ve said you won’t give to because they have already set up the percentages each group gets.

” Doesn’t matter about Obama, don’t give to international charities period. The tooth to tail ratio on their charitable spending is horrible and international relief organizations have been scammed for years.

Donate to the Salvation army, or Disabled American Veterans.

Charity organizers should not be a lucrative job. “

I think I read recently on FR that Salvation Army is left.

Stopped giving to UW years ago. It is a scam and most of the money goes to chiefs and the indians working under them. Very little to organizations and look at what they are supporting. Feel the same way about the Red Cross. Try to find out where they hold their conventions - sounds like the government scams as of late.

When someone calls for a cancer donation, I just tell them that I have cancer (I do) and I am homeless (I am) and now I can’t get treated because I’m, over 65. They are always surprised that Obama cut off the mamograms after age 65. Besides which, I now live in the ghetto since the Chicago polititions redistricted us.

Remember the scandal a couple decades ago about the United Way top brass living, spending, and traveling lavishly? And I believe it involved blatant misuse of UW funds rising to illegality.

Also, In some areas, Planned Parenthood is one of the recipient organizations, IIRC. And it’s true that designating what organization receives your money is a scam; they just re-arrange the funds so that every group gets its allocated piece of the pie.

I was appointed as UW coordinator one season. I refused. I was told I had no choice. I scheduled my hip replacement for that period. Drastic, but I wasn’t going to do UW and I needed the hip replacement anyhow, so did it sooner rather than later. UW is evil.

That's exactly when I stopped, too.

Give directly where you wish. As with most else in the world, who needs the overhead and bureaucracy?

“I am done helping others. If I am forced to feed, clothe, buy contraception, and phones for my neighbors, I see no reason I should voluntarily do more.”

Hmmm. I like your post. I think it would look lovely printed on some shipping size Avery labels, adhered to note paper, and handed out to certain people over the next four years. I think I’ll do it, with some paraphrasing. Adding the word “democrat sluts” should fit nicely connected to “contraception”.

I, too, am taking the Galt route. But in terms of discretionary spending, I will make one exception: I will continue to give money to those organizations which help homeless pets. Dogs and cats are true victims and need our help.

Definitely! We’ll continue to support the organizations that help animals. “For in this world they have no voice; they have no choice.” Our local Planned Pethood is doing a great job with neuter/spay to try to manage the strays. We’ll bump up our donations there.

About the only discretionary spending my husband and I will be doing, is spending on our grandson.

I stopped giving to the United Way after the scandal brought to light their lavish spending on trips and executive salaries

I stopped giving to the Red Cross after 9/11 when we realized they diverted the funds and I looked at their executive salaries.

My funds from here on out are for my family.

Maybe Obama can mandate we give to the United Homo Way? The SCOTUS says they can mandate how we spend our money after all

Ballots obviously don’t express our politial will. We will have to vote with our dollars

I don’t think they had to be driven anywhere in some cities, I think votes were cast without the voter even knowing they were voting.

That's nice, but it is in no sense charitable giving, which is what I was bringing up. It's an intra-family income transfer.

In addition to 1-3, is the following.

Network with the sane (conservative) members of your extended family for support, both financial and otherwise. Minimize communication with the Obamabots, who are potential informants. Our family in eastern Europe has been through this. And then leave them to depend on the government. Some have to learn the hard way.

Remember what Jesus said about family. He didn’t come to bring peace, but division.

Could not possibly agree more...we are tired of getting kicked in the teeth by people and pundits that are supposedly on 'our side'. 'Vote with our dollars'. There's a 'slogan' in there somewhere...'The ballot box didn't work, now we'll vote with our dollars.' Take it viral, conservatives.

I'll stand with you on that one...although some would disagree.dogs and cats are neither Republican nor democrats. :-)
