I honestly never thought the day would come when I would be nostalgic for the Presidency of Bill Clinton. As noxious as the man and his politics are to conservatives, his administration was a good time for the conservative movement. Yeah, he won two elections, but the efforts he made to expand government were largely successfully parried, and he was ultimately forced to accept the idea of limited government control and intervention in order to govern. I think that no greater compliment has ever been paid to the legacy of Ronald Reagan than Bill Clinton's statement that, "the era of big government is over."
As opposed to Obama, Bill Clinton actually seemed to care about what Americans thought of him. I wonder if Bill Clinton knew the fanatical devotion of the Democrat base, and their unabashed willingness to do whatever it takes to chalk up a win, or if the sophisticated tools used by Obama's team even existed at that time. If they did, then I wonder if he'd have been as arrogant and unconcerned with the concerns of the taxpaying demographic of Americans as Obama seems to be. Was Clinton being genuine when he said that? Who knows? Probably not.
But no matter. The Obama administration is now releasing new regulations at the mind boggling clip of more than 6,000 per quarter. Food stamp recipients are soaring. Obama talks ceaselessly of "investing" other people's money in "infrastructure" projects that seem to do nothing but fund union thievery and a seemingly endless parade of hopeless "green energy" failures. Our future health needs tie all of us to the government apron strings now, with the certainty of Obamacare's full implementation, which will kill more jobs and put even more people into full-blown dependency status.
If this republic is to be saved with liberty intact, if this monstrous agenda is to be rolled back, then the GOP needs to get themselves off compromise mode, and onto full war footing. Because that's what this is. An ideological war. And like it or not, we're losing. The era of, "the era of big government is over," is over.
No one knows what is going to happen, but the “”the era of big government is over,” is over” will soon pass even if 100% of Americans wish it were not so.
China has hundreds of millions of citizens that work 12 hour days for about $12 or less a day. Yet, we the USA borrow money from them.
This money is being used to sustain the lifestyle of tens of millions of sloths with smart phones and flat screen TV’s.
How is it that the value of an American sloth is so much greater than a Chinese sweat shop worker?
It is because being Americans, much of their value is tied in to the value of the American business owner who creates enormous value.
Now as more poverty is imported from the south, and the small American businesses begin to go under, the American sloth, more and more will have to prove their value compared to the Chinese worker. There is no way that things will equalize with them in time.
Oh yeah. Did I mention we have to pay that money back to China?
I have a bumper sticker on my gas-gusseling SUV that reads:
Gee, I miss Ron and Nancy,
Hell, I miss Jimmy and Rosalyn.
Obama is just a grifter. Clinton was a grifter, but he had to watch himself because they wanted to run Hillary for office. I haven’t seen that lust for power in Michelle Obama. She does like money, though. There are environmentalists and socialists in the Democrat party and in the federal government. They’re taking advantage of Obama’s indifference to run through their regulations and changes.
