John Kasich betrays conservatives, lies about "blocking ObamaCare in Ohio
Coach is Right ^ | 11/21/2012 | Doug Book

Ohio’s Republican Governor John Kasich has reneged on his campaign pledge to “block ObamaCare” being established in Ohio. And he has done it a way which would make Barack Obama proud—by lying through his teeth.

Contrary to Nancy Pelosi’s claims, passing ObamaCare has not enabled most Americans to know what’s in it. But one thing has become clear to those who have studied this signature, power-play legislation of the left— courageous Republican governors can kill it.

The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act can only infect the nation and the American people if states are willing either to set up state based ObamaCare exchanges, or...

For politicians,

Obamacare = power + money

Politicians go into politics for... power and money! Obamacare is the law of the land, it’s not going anywhere, and it will bring the country to it’s knees.

But, for politicians, it will be a bonanza. To heck with the public, Obamacare will bring politicians exactly what they desire.

Kasich was the senator who changed his 1993 AWB vote at the last minute, sending the tie to Al Gore for his approval. Right up until the VERY HOUR he voted “yay” for the bill, he assured his constituents that he wouldn’t.

Kasich was never a senator. He was a House member.

Sorry. Got that screwed up because Gore cast the senate’s vote to break the tie.

If true, if he implements ObamaCare in any way, Governor John Kasich just eliminated the possibility that I will in any way support him for any future office.

I prefer to think of it as the Patient Protection and Citizens’ Affordable Care Act, or PP-CACA

This analysis is wrong. The law allows the federal government to create an exchange in any state that doesn’t create there own. The federal government doesn’t need the states agreement. Their is nothing a governor can do to stop HHS from creating an exchange.

I don't buy this man's analysis.

Kasich said “I'm not doing it” and if the Feds do it, we are not giving up our states right to regulate the insurance industry, which has always been under the purview of the state.

No surprise here as the Pubbie Party's hierarchy is loaded with spineless, backstabbing politicians. To hell with them all!

Correct. This guy is off on the wrong track.

You’re right, this is bad analysis.

I think you’ll find all the blue states have rushed out and set up their own state systems to get in on the pillaging.

The red states have refused to play, and let the feds handle it on their own.

I don’t understand what gore breaking a tie on the AWB in the Senate has to do with Kasich. So therefore I don’t understand your post. You said you got confused because gore broke the tie. Yeah, but Kasich had nothing to do with that so how come you injected that into this thread about Kasich is what I don’t get...

I have read many times that although the law says the feds will set up an exchange if the state refuses the law leaves out any mechanism for paying for setting up an exchange.

Democrats, Republicans. One screws us from the front, the other from the back. But other than that, is there any difference any more?

The issue I’m familiar with is the law only says the subsidies can be paid through state created exchanges, it doesn’t reference the section that creats the federal exchange. Not surprisingly though the IRS under direction from Obama has said they don’t care and will pay the subsidies out anyways. I guess this will end up in court, but we know how that will turn out.

Ok but if subsidies aren’t provided to be paid through federal exchanges, only through state exchanges, then the law is internally conflicted. The whole reason to set up the exchanges having been negated due to lack of authority in law to subsidize plans for the uninsured who otherwise couldn’t afford a plan and aren’t covered by their employer. I too have read that the regime said they will pay them anyhow, and you are correct it WILL wind up in court.

I don’t know how that will turn out. I know Roberts stabbed us in the back but his ruling had all these surprising twists and turns so who knows what he would say about the text of the law not providing subsidies in federally-created exchanges...

I know it’s hard, but do you realize now you were lied to? Republican leaders pretended to be against Obamacare. Now that the election is over, every day a new Republican is coming out revealing the love Obamacare.
