Defunding the Left
Magnan's Adventures in Reaction ^ | 11-20-2012 | Maganan

The Republicans had "a minor outbreak of sanity" (Jehu's words) when they floated a paper that questioned current intellectual property law. Then they quickly decided that they didn't mean it.

The mass of corporations in this country go with the flow, and if that means supporting the Democrats, then they do so. The Republicans can't seem to figure out that their theoretical support for business and markets doesn't translate into support for their party; quite the opposite. In particular, their support for nearly perpetual copyright and tough copyright enforcement benefits those corporations that are most hostile to the Republicans, corporations mainly in the mainstream media, including Hollywood, and Big Music.

We mentioned the other day that conservatives ought to go after the universities, and a good way of doing so would be to make student loans dischargeable in bankruptcy. The fact that they are not benefits only academia and finance.

There is an even better idea from one of the commenters, named Porter:

" Here’s some ideas on defunding the Left."

"Dissolve their barbell on both ends. Both the very rich and their client-class eaters skew heavily democrat. A cunning Republican (I mean this, of course, hypothetically) would very publicly offer a grand bargain that bargains only him: Punitive, confiscatory, outrageous taxation on incomes over whatever figure, combined with meaningful cuts across the welfare spectrum, including elimination of the earned income tax credit. I’ll offer cuts to your constituents in exchange for higher taxes on your sponsors. It’s simply fiscal prudence with a little extra help from the wealthiest Americans."

"Free the Cable Guy. Push legislation that unbundles cable packages and offers choice to the public in what channels they wish to pay for and receive. This would end the involuntary subsidies from cable customers to the left's fringe media projects. Let each channel be subject to market demand…and let MSNBC drown."

"And this isn’t as much a rep/dem issue as it is one of stanching the bloodflow to a tick…401k retirement accounts represent a torrent of tribute to Wall Street. End it. The left loves the Community Reinvestment Act. Give them more community reinvestment. Require 401 monies to be managed by institutions local to the business or employee. Much of this would flow into CDs at smaller regional banks where subsequent lending activity would occur. Wealth remains local and decentralized while Goldman bonuses are slashed to seven figures. There are no losers. "

*PING* to some good "counterrevolutionary" techniques in the aftermath of the Parasite-based Putsch.

NOT my ideas -- these are practical.

Cheers!

Companies support politicians to prevent harmful proposed legislation dreamed up to extort money from corporations. Now that they have nearly unlimited power the Rats will be rolling in corporate dough. It will start at the coronation.

Just read on Drudge that the “fashion industry” raised $40M for Obutthead...
We need to starve the beast...no expensive clothes from “designers” if you ever did buy them...I haven’t...so the 1% who will get nailed in taxes can support them and their sweat shops in Asia....or the 47% who don’t pay fed taxes can drool over them...
Am SICK of the hypocrisy.....

After the last election, I’ve become an eternal pessimist... I don’t think there is anything we can now do to change the direction of this country... only events and the hand of God can save this country... and I don’t count on God as being too willing to help a country that spits in his face and denied Him three times at the Democrat convention.

I have to agree with you on this. I think the USA has tipped to the parasite/looter class. The producer class will continue to carry a heavier burden with each passing year until the complete collapse.

Our elected representatives are complicate in the transfer. The no longer are the leaders we can count on. We are getting sold out at every turn. Unless something drastic happens, the producer class is doomed.

I hear you...
We spent all of Thursday, thanking God for the blessings our family enjoys...
Yet, in the back of my mind, I kept wondering how long it will last, will God challenge us more in the coming years and will my children be challenged even further in a world they won’t recognize...?
Dear God, be merciful.....

Sadly, the moochers control the country now and the Democrats will do everything to accommodate them. The founders would be so proud of us as we roll along to our economic destruction.
