With the election now over and all of the negativity of the Obama campaign still permeating the public consciousness, it leads to an inevitable question-- how did he do it? With many questions and so many answers, what made the numbers work and how much of it had to do with Obama or Romney themselves?

Romney squatting on the GOP primary for 7 years, with all the money and the media and GOPe, and democrat support, but with a history of being unelectable.

He won because he figured out how to use Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, Flitter and every other social media widget out there to directly pipe personalized propaganda to the takers and the Julias of the nation, convincing each that his or her pet personal stupid issue would be Obama’s #1 priority.

According to an article in Ad Age 11.12.12, “...the Obama campaign’s real secret weapon” and the “most consistently compelling outreach tool used by Obama-Biden was email.” Or “political spamology” by way of crafty subject lines designed to get the recipient to open the email.

Why is the country in so much trouble?

...the 47% is not 47%, its more like 53%...over the line which cannot be overcome by the free market.

We are a full blown, genuine welfare state brought to us as predicted by many people over the last 2 hundred years or so:

When the people find out that they can vote themselves LARGESS from the public treasury, they will, and free market freedom will be over.

That's where we are, and that's where we will stay for the foreseeable future...

Please, someone tell me where I am wrong...I need to be wrong...I want to be wrong, but the calculations and the nature of humans tell be that I am not wrong....

Voter fraud and the idiots that would not vote for Romney and stayed home or wrote in their loser candidate that could not win the GOP nomination.

“Why is the country in so much trouble?”

Because some percentage of Americans are so stupid as to believe anything Bammy and co. say?

Gee, the GOP establishment, pundits and talk radio people tell us we’re not needed, not wanted, call us every name in the book and we actually go away and don’t vote for your candidates. Yeah...we’re funny that way.

the 53% also includes many many govt workers and retirees....lets not just blame it on the poor...

those govt workers and retirees know what they're doing...they got a good thing going and they'll be damned if they'll suffer like the rest of us....

ultimately, if there was no fraud, Romney did win the election....I believe this with my whole heart...

the SCM and bammey have been subdued after the election a bit, because they know they just had the most treasonous coup in the history of our once beloved country.

I almost chose all of the above, until I saw ‘Obama’s competence’!! Out of the choices given, I picked free stuff, but the Paulies that stayed home is a close second.

The Main Stream Media has been completely on Obama’s side for five solid years. That is why. Fast and Furious.. not a story. Benghazi coverup... not a story. President Obama’s deliberately fake birth certificates, for whatever reason, even if only to bait “birthers” not a story. Obama asking Boeing to not let people go until the day after the election, even though it was illegal... not a problem.

Many things that would have cause a Republican to be in the news 24/7, with the media screaming for investigations and even impeachment... were not covered. Nothing could be allowed that was critical of the first black president and might hurt his chances for reelection.

Because of electronic voting and vote counting machines, no voter ID requirements and stuffed absentee and early ballots. Besides all the free stuff we pay for to sustain the 50% of the dead beats in our society, obozo was put in the WH by the power elite to do their bidding as to start culling the rest of us. Society has so degraded that we (the people) have become a threat to their way of life by our need to use earthly resources for OUR own survival. They just can't allow that to continue.

It is not even close to that number. The 47% number is the number of households that have a family member that receives government benefits. If your mother lives with you and gets socialist insecurity, you are in that number. If your husband is retired from the military and gets a pension, you are in that number.

Remember, older people who get socialist security voted overwhelmingly against President Obama's reelection.

The MAGIC GLOWING BOX in the living room told people, over and over, that Romney was the most evil person that ever walked the face of the Earth, and that Obama was so much like Santa Claus.

And a voting majority belived it.

This ain’t rocket surgery, folks.

Actually I believe the 47% Romney was referring to were those that paid no federal income tax. The actual number I believe was closer to 46% last year but he had a point.

We are at an inflection point in our nation where the number wanting something is now equal to the number producing something. The last four elections are identical with the exception of a few battleground states shifting around. When the Repubs go Democrat-Lite, they loose. Why go for the lite version when you can have the real thing if you are a voter looking for a handout?

Since elections between the Dems and Democrat-Lite Repubs are now tug-of-wars that boil down to a few hundred thousand votes in a few battleground states, the side that keeps their base engaged and out hustles the other side wins in the close elections. When either party fields a truly weak candidate (McCain / Kerry), the base doesn’t come out and the margin of victory is larger. There is no real significant change in the voting public and no land slide messages or views that have changed over the last 4 elections. Yet,the winners of these periodic tug-of-wars both claim that they have mandates no matter how close the elections. The MSM then goes all in to claim the Repubs were lucky and the public was to stupid to vote for the Dems if the Repubs win, or that the Repubs need to become more like the Dems if they lose. The Repubs lap this crap up and refuse to lead by simply ignoring the Dem propaganda coming out of the MSM regardless of whether they win or lose.

In this election, Obama out hustled Romney in key urban areas in the battleground states and won. Kerry and McCain were weak candidates and they lost easily, Gore and Romney were stronger candidates and they pushed it into “who ran the better election on the ground in getting the vote out” and ultimately lost by narrow margins. From a demographic stand point the urban centers are the homes of those who want something and the rest of the country is the homes of those who produce. Unfortunately, it is easier to run a political machine that gets the vote out in urban centers than vast areas that surround the urban centers. This means the Repubs will most likely lose close elections when they field Democratic-Lite candidates as the urban centers will always vote for the real thing.

You think maybe 16.5 million Obamaphones (with 250 free minutes and texting capabilities) helped with the “ground game”?

...the idiots that would not vote for Romney and stayed home...

It's not the voters' fault that Romney was such a lackluster, plastic candidate, with weather vane principles.

At the very moment that our history demanded a leader in the mold of the Framers, we got George Bush Sr., Gerald Ford, Bob Dole, and John McCain, all rolled into one.

I'm half convinced that the GOP-e threw the race to the Commies on purpose.

obama did not win - he stole the election twice, by voter fraud!
In 2008, the lamestream media, in addition to voter fraud, is the force behind obama stealing the election.

In 2012, voter fraud is what enables obama stealing the election. Even the lamestream media could not brain-wash enough people to help obama steal the election in 2012.

Voter fraud. I refuse to believe Romney got less voted than McCain.
