I've never seen the show, but considering that most stuff on TV is filth, I'm sure the kid is right.

Calling it "filth," and telling people to stop watching the show, will certainly gain a lot of attention. It might be enough to wake up the sleeping viewers. "Why shouldn't I watch it?" "What makes it filth?" Asking questions is a beginning.

He's been a Christian since preschool. I wonder why the parents would send him to Christian schools and then allow him to be on a show that many, he included, consider to be filth.

As to your first point, how many Christian preschoolers truly understand, independently, what being a Christian truly means? At what age, biologically do they actually begin to understand?

Concerning your second point, you hit across something quite relevant to your first point. What kind of Christian schools did he actually attend? A traditional kind, or one of those whose mission is more 'social justice' and little, if any at all of what we consider moral upbringing? We truly don't know, but if it is as I suspect, the adults which should have been molding his character have actually let him down badly, and may themselves be learning all about 'millstones about the neck', and 'thrown into the depths of the sea' and all that which was stated by Christ as the wages of those who cause 'little ones to stumble'.

That he is now at an age where he is possibly able to discern for himself, and is doing so is more to be commended than condemned...

Yes it would, but Jesse Jackson or someone would say it is racist, because the way they portray Buckwheat. I'd really like to see "Amos and Andy", but that will never happen.

He became a Christian. He spoke his mind. He earned his pay. Why should he give back the money he earned in a legitimate though disgusting occupation. The kid has integrity to speak his mind as he is growing up.

Conversion? Did you watch any of the interview? He's been a Christian since preschool. I wonder why the parents would send him to Christian schools and then allow him to be on a show that many, he included, consider to be filth

Did you watch the interview? Jones states that he attended Christian schools but didn't take Christianity seriously and his parents did not provide a Christian home. Jones states that he was into the usual crap privileged teens get into. A few months ago Jones states that he felt God embrace him and after some agonizing, he realized that he needed to change his life.

This epiphany, at age 19, is not uncommon for Christians that have a connection to the faith (as Jones did with his school) but don't really pursue it. Protestant Christians do not believe in infant baptism. Protestant Christians generally discover their true faith as adults. Some at 19, some at 80. Angus Jones has found his and is doing what he knows he should do. That he is criticized for doing so is axiomatic.

I hope young Mister Jones will be able to surmount the heavy criticism he'll receive in the days to come. Most people that like what Hollywood has to offer don't take kindly to being told that it's 'filth'. This thread is a good indication of that. However, it's all just opinion and worth what we pay for it but I wanted to offer the courtesy of a reply to your post.

Most sitcoms are filth. I grew up watching wholesome shows such as “Leave It To Beaver” and am disgusted by what kids are exposed to in prime time. Considering our video diet, it is not surprising that the country is sick.

People need to lighten up or mind their own business.

Why don’t you allow others to disagree with you? Lighten up, not everybody enjoys raunchy filth. Live with it and mind your own business.

He didn't find God, he found a cult. His ramblings and bizarre behaviour should have made that apparent.

His spiritual advisor is Chris Hudson of the Forerunner Chronicles. Cults like this prey on confused people like Jones and bleed them dry. Hopefully you don't think this is to be commended.

It doesn’t matter who disagrees with me, they would still be wrong.

Never heard of this group. If you're correct, it isn't to be commended. *My* point was that his'Christian' parents and 'Christian' school in his formative years may have been just as ill-serving. In fact they may have set him up to be preyed upon by *other* 'wolves in sheep's clothing'...
