Pity that Orwell never wrote a sequel to 1984. It would have been interesting to see what happened to Airstrip One during an extended power outage . . .

He had to rush to complete 1984, as he had been diagnosed with a terminal illness after he had started writing.

Once he finished 1984, he had a heck of a time finding a publisher. Most who read it, were too afraid of the story and its implications.
