What happens if the “rich” just stop working or make less on purpose?
You going to hang them?
You’d think if you want to maximize the public good and create jobs and prosperity and thus TRULY spread wealth around, you would want to ENHANCE the profit motive, incentivize business, etc., not punish business. But no. For the DUmmies, envy and class warfare outweigh reason and common sense.
If leftists made any logical sense they would become hyper-capitalists because its the only way to fund their socialist programs.
Instead they will have us end up like North Korea
This is why Democrats have to moderate their thirst for taxes somewhat. Otherwise, it's called killing the goose that laid the golden egg (see graphic at top of DUFU). There have got to be SOME people who make a lot of money, or else they've got nothing to tax.

It seems to be a common theme. Someone issues a warning and the left use it as a manual to spread destruction.

It opens a niche for the not rich to become rich.Yeah! Right on Comrade!.
That worked great in Zimbabwe RHODESIA when Obama's evil twin, Bobby Mugabe, drove out all the White Farmers, confiscated their land and 'gave' the farms to Blacks who didn't know a spade from a hoe. [okay stop snickering ;-)]
On the down side, Zimbabwe RHODESIA went from a net producer and exporter of food with plenty for everyone, to one of no food and complete starvation. Then again, the country had too many people to start with [/s]. And like the saying goes: 'You have to break a few eggs to make an omelet. Plus 'Bobby's motive was 'pure' and that's what counts, correct Commrade DUmmie.
So yeah, let's Kill and Eat all 'the rich' and 'give' all their stuff to 'the people'. Obama can even hire Mugabe as his 'Assets Czar'.
This is my favorite collective dream story. The classic commune fantasy where everyone is part owner and everyone works happily for the collective good.
Unfortunately, humans aren't ants that work mindlessly at their duty. Humans are over achievers, lazy lay-abouts, Mensa candidates and everything in between. Get ten of them together and start a business, any business - making coffees and pies or repairing appliances; I will bet real money that within a year the strata will divide. The two or three hard workers will begin to slow down as they see their efforts go to pay the lazier ones, one of the ten will turn out to be a chronic complainer that is either always late or has something that prevents everyday attendence, no one will want to clean the bathrooms (someone always starts out, but some others find it beneath them to scrub).
And so it will go, until the real workers buy out the lazy ones, hire more real workers and build a company where they are in charge. Kind of like the circle of life, only with winners and losers.

Are these people - in DU - real??? the DU is not the DEMOCRAT PARTY of people like Scoop Jackson, Ella Grasso, or J. F. Kennedy.
