The liberals are screaming for more gun control. But explain to me why in a state with one of the most stringent gun control laws in the nation the Sandy Hook massacre still happened?
Connecticut has strong gun laws that help combat the illegal gun market, prevent the sale of most guns without background checks and reduce risks to children, according to the Brady Campaign. In the organization’s 2009 state scorecards released for all 50 states, Connecticut earned 53 points out of a total of 100 and has the nation’s fourth strongest gun laws.“Connecticut has done more than most states to combat illegal guns and has worked to keep guns out of the hands of dangerous people. In fact, Connecticut has a one-of-a-kind law that allows a judge to remove guns from people who have been determined to be a threat to themselves or others,” said Ron Pinciaro, President of CT Against Gun Violence.
Connecticut bans assault weapons, judges can remove guns from those who constitute a threat, they earn high marks from gun control advocates for everything from dealer regulation to backgrounds checks and they earn the maximum score for guns in public places.
But still a crazy nut got some guns. How? By stealing them. This is how criminals and nutcases get guns, either stealing the guns themselves or buying stolen guns on the street.
So here’s the challenge for gun control advocates: explain why you failed the people of Newtown. You cited Connecticut as a national example. You said its laws “reduce risks to children.” You gave no state a higher rating for keeping guns out of public places — like schools.And a criminally insane man stole legally-owned guns (owned under Connecticut’s regime) after being denied their legal purchase, broke in through a window, and killed children and adults — adults who were not armed to shoot back, and so died unable to save the children who also died.
You want this one event to be a national test? Fine. Why are there 20 children dead when the state of Connecticut did what you said they should to keep their people safe?
The restrictive gun control laws were supposed to save those kids....but they didn't. A teacher with a gun could of but since only criminals can have guns in Connecticut that didn't happen.
So let's have that "conversation"

The way I see, there are two extremes:
1. Gun-free society.
2. Everybody is armed.
Both are perfect in terms of eliminating gun violence or reducing the magnitude. In the first scenario, there is no gun for the criminal to “use”. He will have to use a knife or other weapons. In the second scenario, even if he has a gun, he would be neutralized by teachers and principals as he forces his way through the school.
In reality, however, the society is somewhere in the middle. There are hundreds of millions of guns, but they are concentrated among the prepared and the criminals. The sitting ducks are defenseless. We have sitting-duck zones where criminals can simply cause mayhem. If those sitting ducks do not arm themselves to protect themselves(personal responsibility), then the only choice is for everybody else to lose their gun-owning rights. And demonrats are committed to pursue that route.
Connecticut’s guns laws are very liberal compared to Russia’s. But we can all remember the Beslan massacre ending with the death of over 380 people.
Russian gun laws are the Brady Campaigns wet dream compared to Connecticut’s laws and they did not stop a bunch of Islamic nut jobs from getting guns and killing more than 14 times as many people.

Those sitting ducks are mostly that way by choice. Not my problem, nor my obligation to protect them. If they choose to live in a no-gun state or not to exercise their Second Amendment rights, that's their business. If I am in a position to protect them with reasonable safety, I'll do so, unless they are among the anti-self defense activists.
had to walk past a local self-defense type shop on way to the grocery store for a carton of eggs. the place was packed with customers, some waiting outside on the side walk. I stopped to chat with a couple of them, they said they were there buying g’s for all their friends and relatives ... just in case some dictatorially-minded politician were to really ever try to impose more g- control laws on America.
These politicians are the best thing for the self-defense industry!!! A politician’s face comes on the boobtoob and the next morning half the town is lined up to buy more gear!
Item 1 can never be attained simply because criminals will never give up their guns and neither will our politicians allow their bodyguards to be disarmed.
You see, the lives of our politicians are soooooooo much more worthy to be preserved than that of the useless, common, law-abiding citizens. Hell, even European politicians have armed bodyguards. (That’s why the 9mm caliber is so popular. Inside joke.)

You have to really try hard to be ignorant if you believe that the tragedy of a few dozen people that are killed at random is worse than the government killing several million innocent victims that disagree with them. Don’t think it could happen here? I’m certain that the people in Communist countries didn’t think it would happen to them in a Worker’s Paradise.
Don’t forget about the huge increase in crime that would come if criminals knew that all the honest people were disarmed.
Many many thousands or millions of tiny coffins for children or orphans to grow up being raised by the State after the fashion of the puppies in Animal Farm.
