A gun buyback day in San Francisco and Oakland brought out huge crowds Saturday as local residents turned over firearms for cash.

Each person turning in a working firearm to police was given $200 cash. The line was around the block in San Francisco where the group ran out of cash by early afternoon and started handing out I.O.U.'s.

A woman named Jean-Margaret Strauss was one of the first in line. She said the shooting in Newtown helped motivate her to turn in three guns that used to be her father's. She said her guns weren't jeopardizing anyone, but turning them in was a way to honor her family history. She said she kept her dad's holster and plans to put gardening tools in it. "I don't have to keep a hold of the guns," Strauss said.

In Oakland, police said the response was even bigger. They expect to take back 300 guns Saturday. Police spokesperson Johnna Watson said people there turned in assault rifles, AK47s and other weapons that were known to be stolen...

Wait hold on..liberal freakazoids in San Francisco have guns..OK this is news to me I figured when they were approached by an assailant the lib would just say “take everything you want, your entitled to all of my possessions because you have been abused by the man”

Please, please have one of these “buybacks” (how can they buy back something they never sold to me in the first place?) in my town. I have an old Savage single shot shotgun with a cracked frame that I’d love to trade in for cash or a gift card.

It isn’t safe to shoot, so I’d never sell it.

Have all the buybacks you want. Just don’t make it mandatory.

As an eight-year old, I shook hands with Robert F. Kennedy and his young son at Disneyland a day or so before he was assassinated.

“It isn’t safe to shoot, so I’d never sell it.”

With a nation grieving all the anti-gun crowd comes out.
So much is wrong here. Do they really believe gun control will stop the killing? I don’t, I think it would increase the killing. Where is the common sense in all this? I don’t own a gun now and probably won’t buy one. I just read on line that that the sandy Hook killer spent his time in a windowless basement playing video games. Now here is a place to start. Train teachers to detect these sick people, do it the right way.
I’ve got to stop writing before I get so angry.

GUNS ARE NOT THE PROBLEM!!!

I’m so proud of the people in my small conservative town. My husband and I were in Wal-Mart just an hour ago and the ammo counter was packed. One man was louder than the rest and told the whole group at the counter that “if that school principle and a teacher or two had been armed none of this would have happened”. I’m hearing a lot of that around town and online. I hope this whole gun grab setup explodes on Obama’s face. There are lighted signs all over our town advertising new guns for sale. Sales are out the roof!

Just one encounter with a Democrat and you became a Conservative. That’s what you get for touching one of those things.

;-)

I was already a conservative. When a famous man appears right in front of you, you shake their hand, plus the dirt on the Kennedys hadn’t leaked out yet.

Robert F. Kennedy tried to get a job working for Joe McCarthy. He even made Joe his daughter’s Godfather...Kathleen Kennedy Townsend. Even some Democrats hated commies back then.

I have a couple of working firearms that I would sell for $200 a piece. That would give me a good down payment on a new Sig.
