ABC White House correspondent Jake Tapper asked President Barack Obama Wednesday why the president’s plea for action on gun issues has come so late in his first term and only after last week’s tragic incident at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Connecticut. Obama was holding a noon press conference to announce the creation of a Vice President Joe Biden-led task force to craft new administration gun control policy.

“It seems to a lot of observers that you made the political calculation in 2008 in your first term and 2012 not to talk about gun violence,” Tapper said during the noon White House press conference. “You had your position on renewing the ban on semi-automatic rifles that then-Sen. Biden put into place, but you didn’t do much about it. This is not the first incident of horrific gun violence of your four years. Where have you been?”

Obama responded sharply, insisting that he’d been too busy “be[ing] president” to focus on his gun control platform.

Well... don’t forget Tapper is merely lecturing Obama for being insufficiently far-left liberal enough on gun control.

This wasn’t journalism, but a locker room pep talk during halftime.

Being literate, I don't do videos, but I am very familiar with the ignorance tsunami as the result of the CT mass killings.

All I can say in reaction to this thread is...

Mr. Tapper, where have YOU been?
Until you can formulate a cogent response to the following established and known facts and statistics, please just STFU!

Gun Facts

Was Obama fast and furious in his response?

Have read many different ideas on where exactly the president is headed with this. You’ve come closest to being right I think.

I trust the irony is lost on no one that the person with the most questionable background, who gave automatic weapons to narco-terrorists and most likely al qaeda, who have the chutzpah to open his yap about this. When will someone have the chutzpah to bring that up with him?
