ABC White House correspondent Jake Tapper asked President Barack Obama Wednesday why the president’s plea for action on gun issues has come so late in his first term and only after last week’s tragic incident at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Connecticut. Obama was holding a noon press conference to announce the creation of a Vice President Joe Biden-led task force to craft new administration gun control policy.
“It seems to a lot of observers that you made the political calculation in 2008 in your first term and 2012 not to talk about gun violence,” Tapper said during the noon White House press conference. “You had your position on renewing the ban on semi-automatic rifles that then-Sen. Biden put into place, but you didn’t do much about it. This is not the first incident of horrific gun violence of your four years. Where have you been?”
Obama responded sharply, insisting that he’d been too busy “be[ing] president” to focus on his gun control platform.

Obama is for getting “Military style weapons” off the streets yet his OWN Administration gave guns to drug cartels who ended up murdering hundreds of people..Hey Obama, maybe you should look in the mirror, you have more blood on your hands than any mass murderer ever could
My take on this is that if he were serious about gun-control - in making a real difference and substantively TAKING guns away from law-abiding citizens, he would have put someone who actually had a functioning brain in charge of the “gun-question forum” he’s tapped Plugs Biden on heading.
He would actually detour his financial tax tyranny into taking guns? Where does this get him the money he needs to sustain the leeches who put him where he is? Free publicity and good feelings. He isn’t running for President any more. His ideology is one of redistribution, and he can’t get that diverting national attention to a fight that may well end up in a guaranteed civil war if they try to go too far.
It was the only time during the Q&A that he seemed focused.
Tapper seems a slow learner...Barry’s first foray into ‘gun control’ was an ‘under the covers’ op. F&F was first and foremost a manufactured ‘crisis’ to ram thru more gun laws. Sadly, for Barry, he got caught red handed which stopped the music. Good old Adam did what all the scheming goofs in DC couldn’t.
An interesting side note: According to Vicker’s ATF source the DOJ was talking w/ the ATF about EOing ‘assault rifles’ into NFA weapons weeks before Adam popped up on the radar. Seems Barry was lining up his dictatorial ducks for some reason. Was he planning on a crisis or did Adam do him a favor? Hmmmm....
On the other hand, we know he hasn't been attending very many security briefings.

I thought there was an outside shot that he would issue an executive order and move for confiscation - but he is instead pressuring Congress.

If you could first know where you are and whither you are tending, you could better judge what to do and how to do it. You initiated a policy to tolerate the Marxist-Alinsky radicals and let them rant; not only has it not ceased but was constantly augmented by decades of infiltration and indoctrination. You now have two Americas. In my opinion, it will not cease until a crisis shall have been reached and passed. A house divided against itself cannot stand. I believe this government cannot endure, permanently, half statist and half free; I do not expect the house to fall; but I do expect it will cease to be divided. It will become all one thing, or all the other.
The question today is either the opponents of statism will arrest the further spread of it and place it on course of ultimate extinction, or its advocates will push it forward till it shall become permanent.
