All the time fellow gun owners say things to me like, “Seriously, Steve, how would they possibly gather up all the hundreds of millions of guns that are out there?”
Well my naïve friend, let me tell you how it works.
Step 1: Create an anti-gun culture and make guns and gun owners the bad guys at every turn:
On the evening news, every time a crime is reported, make sure there is a picture of a mean looking gun next to the chalk outline of a body. Portray hunters and sportsmen as backwoods unsophisticated hillbillies and rednecks. Feminize the society, especially the males. Create a culture where the police* are revered as heroes whose intentions can never be questioned. Demonize war and warriors. Label gun organizations “crazed lunatics” and “unreasonable extremists.” Make shooting restrictive by forcing participants to private ranges, then close the ranges by legal means citing reasons of safety, nuisance, environmental, or whatever possible.
Create terms like “assault weapon”, “high-powered sniper rifle”, “guns off the streets”, “weapons of war” when engaging in the gun debate making ordinary guns out to have extraordinary functions. Build on this disinformation by using movies, gaming, and entertainment that creates the falsehood that guns are capable of doing impossible things like firing hundreds of times without reloading or overheating or blowing up a car’s gas tank with the strike of a bullet.
Step 2: Build “security” systems that make the sheeple feel safe, giving them a false sense of security and overdependence on police and government authority while at the same time disarming them.
Establish gun free zones. Install security cameras everywhere. Place roving security cars with strobes in mall parking lots. Create neighborhood watch programs under the careful supervision of law enforcement insisting that no one be armed...

That is all fine, but they still need to get rid of that pesky 2Amd.
Illinois is right now trying to push thru 2 bills, tonite, about banning guns., by the lame duck session!
Given the gun buying frenzy the last 4 years by Americans, I’d say all the noise is comming from the chattering class.
Who interprets the 2nd Amendment? The Supreme Court. One appointment by Obama can change the current 5-4 favoring gun rights into 5-4 denying them.
Who obeys the supreme court?
Hell, I can't find all of my firearms here in the house, that's why the grandkids can't visit until they get their training.
I've got bricks of .22 long rifle as bookends for reloading notebooks.
And I'm just a cook. Lots more out there with lots more than I have.

Yes, go ahead and ban them and demand that I register what I own. I’ve got a closet full of nothing left to lose and several don’t give a damn suitcases to pack it in.

No, in the end, WE interpret the 2A. The arms are in our hands, and we can read the BOR without needing five of nine black robed legal gurus to interpret it for us.
This is my interpretation: any arms, ammo or mags legal in 2012 will be legal forever. Any laws passed that they claim will make them illegal, I will not recognize or obey, including laws mandating registration, banning private transfers, etc.
This is the hill to fight on. Otherwise, we are on the road to eventual democide.

Make all gun owners the bad guys. That is silly. Everyone of those gun owners are fathers mothers, brothers sisters uncles aunts etc. Veterans, former LEO, Fireman, Paramedics.
Most of that crap has already been tried, and Americans have responded by buying firearms and ammunition in record amounts. We are completely overrunning the left on this issue and they are squealing like pigs.
I’ve been giving a lot of thought to this scenerio, as have others. The govt may be able to create control zones in large cities, but it won’t work in smaller towns and rural areas, for a number of reasons.
So, if this comes to pass, I believe the conflict will have to be taken to the large, blue urban areas.
That’s it. Just a little static we need to tune out. A little “snow” in the picture!
Besides,I will have my guns as long as I am alive, and I won’t need ‘em after that. ( I would like to leave them to my daughter, though)
But 80 or so million of us can change that to a 0-0 decision, if we have to.
