Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich.) introduced two reparations resolutions on the first day of the 113th Congress.
The first, H.R. 40, is “to acknowledge the fundamental injustice, cruelty, brutality, and inhumanity of slavery in the United States and the 13 American colonies between 1619 and 1865 and to establish a commission to examine the institution of slavery, subsequently de jure and de facto racial and economic discrimination against African-Americans, and the impact of these forces on living African-Americans, to make recommendations to the Congress on appropriate remedies, and for other purposes.”
The second, H.R. 98, is “to provide a remedy for survivors and descendants of the victims of the Tulsa, Oklahoma Race Riot of 1921.”

Yes, Conyer’s wife Monica has been moved to a half-way house waiting to get out of federal prison for bribery.
All former slaves who are still alive should be paid reparations by their former owners.

Don’t anyone try to tell me that the government and its wacky politicians and bureaucrats aren’t completely out of control. This country is done. Finished. I just don’t see any way for us to get out of this. Too many crazies and idiots in Washington and the U.S. Government.

Let’s put the pencil to the trillions of tax dollars spent in welfare, the wasted education money, the justice system and the incarceration of Blacks since 1960. I’d say that is more than enough “reparation” (i.e.: shakedown money) for a group who has been in the USA for almost 300 years and still can’t make it.
Maybe these whiners should check out the Vietnamese and Chinese for some clues as to how to succeed in America. For starters, ALL government subsidies to this dependent group should be eliminated. With the USA dead broke, it should be sink-or-swim time for the Takers.

Give them an acre of land, a mule and let them homestead on all of the vacant lots here in Detroit. Trouble with this solution is most of the blacks wouldn’t apply for this due to being lazy and being on the Government Dole. Working the land would constitute having a job and same would negate their Welfare Monies?

I just called Conyers office (Washington Office: 202-225-5126) and explained to the staffer that my dad, an member of the NYPD for 23 years, was passed over for a promotion to sergeant after 18 years on the job...the promotions were given to people who had half his job experience and received half the score on the sergeants exam than my dad did.. the only reason these people, who were significantly less qualified than my father, got the promotion was they were not white and my father was white....
i asked if congressman Conyers would fight for reparations for the victims of affirmative action such as my dad- qualified people who lost out on jobs, job promotions, college admission, college tuition assistance to lesser qualified individuals simply because they were white...
i asked the staffer if Conyers is going to fight on behalf of the victims of a government policy that encouraged the discriminatory practice of slavery on blacks shouldn’t he not be a hypocrite and fight on behalf of the victims who suffered under the government policy that encouraged discrimination against qualified people simply because they were white???
Blacks in this country are like the English “lower classes.” They were sold a bill of goods by the Socialists. They don’t know HOW to work, because they blow off school etc.
Give all the blacks a house to fix up in Detroit as long as they sign a contract to stay there and never take another cent from the government.

We have already been paying reparations for four years now. As long as the government keeps printing up new money and handing that money out in the form of EBT cards and Obamaphones, the value of the money I earn is diminished. So when I go to the grocery store, I can only purchase two-thirds the groceries I could purchase before. The other one-third ends up in the cart of someone with an EBT card.

the staffer was stunned...first he didn’t understand what i was saying and remarked “so you just want a clean slate for jobs?” and i responded “not just jobs but job promotions, college admission and college tuition assistance- basically reparations for anyone who was discriminated against because they are white due to the oppressive government policy of Affirmative Action which put race ahead of qualifications”...
he said “i’m copying what you said down to give to the congressman”...whether he does or does not, if 5000 other conservatives called his office with the same question it would make news...

I know the feeling. First they promoted the unqualified blacks, then they promoted the little women who should have never been on the Police Force to begin with.
But they had to move them up the ranks qualified or not to match their quota’s.

That's already been settled by past SCOTUS decisions. It's covered by emanations from the penumbra of the Commerce Clause, just like liberal legislation has been for at least my lifetime.
The Constitution has been a joke to Democrats for many years, and nobody in Washington has enough spine to do a thing about it. Oaths of office to the contrary are nothing but a bitter joke now.

These “reparations” would thrill tens of millions of “needy” Americans; I would think Boehner could be coaxed on board for this. Maybe we could try to get the money from Germany, who never paid its World War I reparations, but I doubt Ms. Merkel would agree. Oh, well, just add it to the national debt. That always pleases the “American” people.
Repatriation of former slaves would be less expensive.

Sure, why not. But add an amendment subtracting all forms of welfare to blacks up until now, plus ban all forms of affirmative action from now on. From the moment reparations get paid, the whining stops forever, and the slate is clean.
I think that 49 years of affirmative action and other racial preference quotas, along with tax payer funded entitlement programs is way more than enough reparation. They have been given opportunity and financial support long enough for the ones that will rise up to do so, while the others continue to blame whitey for their own self made life choices.
