Once cowed at the thought of provoking 2nd Amendment supporters, leftists will soon attempt to ban “assault weapons” (and much more) as legislation offered by Diane Feinstein makes its way to the Senate floor. It seems that DC liberals have finally become convinced that American gun owners are too cowardly, too lazy or too dependent upon the financial "generosity" of Big Brother to fight for their 2nd Amendment rights.
During the past 4 years, the gun banning left have watched as American buyers broke sales records in the purchase of semi-automatic rifles. Opting for these and other powerful, efficient weapons it is estimated that some 100 million private citizens are now in possession of over 300 million firearms. And these numbers continue to grow with each passing month.

I’m becoming more convinced that the left wants a fight. Then they can declare martial law.
I think they’re right.
Unless somebody starts organizing military opposition, they will just pick-off gun owners one-by-one, raiding one house at a time for those who don’t surrender.
They’re already prepared to kill for this.
They need us to lose our cool. Why? So that they can ban guns.
They can poke us at no cost to themselves using government force.
Yep, they want the excuse to use the military and police weapons of state tyranny against legal gun owners. And if the country is destroyed in the fight, well that is good too because they, like Obama, despise the US and want it brought down.
Time for a little ‘civil disobedience’...or maybe a lot. They are trying desperately to provoke us. And my advice to them is to be VERY careful what you wish for.
The left is begging for extermination. Either us or them.
Obama’s architects are open that 20-30 million Americans will have to be killed to usher in the new era.
That;s what they’re counting on because they’ve seen other coutnries citizens who ‘vowed never to give up their guns’ just give them up when pushed o nthe issue withoyut haqrdly any fight- same thing will happen here too and the democrats know this full well- 100 years ago thsi would never have hsappened, howerver, today, peopel are so self centered that they have attached themselves to the government’s teet and will NOT give it up regardless of how many constitutional rights they lose
If "we" lose our cool, then it's too late to ban guns.
They need us to continue to think we need to stay cool--then they can ban guns by the same incrementalism they've used for the past 60 years to get to where we are now.
This is my feeling too.
We outnumber them by a hundred million or more. And their access to the power of the state will not last for long, the police & military will not go along for long.
Another obama healthcare, thats what they will do.
I agree, but with one concern. I think we're going to see a media blitz unlike anything we've ever seen. And if another large shooting occurs, . . . well . . it's over.
Of course they want a fight. Dim bulbs need an ass-kicking every once in awhile to remind them why they are “victims”.
Which is pretty much the reason the 2nd Amendment exists.
How long before there is a 10 million gun owners march on DC? Just for fun I have been checking out all the gun sites like AIM surplus, looks like they are all selling out of stock. Is 2012-13 the year of the gun?
