I read this article just last night. I think Matt is dead on in his assessment of where this country is headed. After all, why would the United States be any different than China, the Soviet Union, Turkey, Cambodia, etc. We must also take into account the group of people who are now in charge of the current Administration. These people are known associates of people who bombed the Pentagon, and participated in concocting plans to rid the country of the 25 million folks that could not be satisfactorily re-educated.
I had a discussion with my 75 year old father just this last weekend about gun rights and the importance of the 2nd amendment has in relation to our freedom. He said, “Oh, nothing like what happened in China, Nazi Germany or the Soviet Union could happen in this country!” I remember thinking to myself that people like him are the reason that totalitarian governments are able to gain power. These people just don’t believe it will ever happen—until it does.

Agree with your assertion that people just don’t think anything so horrible could ever happen here. I believe they are in for the shock of their lives in the near future.
